das werk 1:35 Faun L 900 including SdAh 115

Magneto, I feel the best solution would be for you to purchase this kit and give us a detailed WIP on these pages. In dong so, you’ll guide the rest of us through the rocky spots. I’m looking forward to seeing that come to fruition. -

I apologize for not checking back with this. I thought once would have been enough. Jeroen, good catch and thanks. -
Avia off the SOD. Czech it out!
Clunkmeister replied to Clunkmeister's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
The B-52 is beautiful, no doubt. Maybe someday.... But the 36 is a bucket build for me, and I’ve set a goal to “try” to have it ready for next years Nats, although it won’t go to Vegas unless I drive. Barring that, it’ll be Omaha.. I’m not rushing that one, it’ll be an amazing model when finished. As for being talked about, that must be why my ears were ringing.... -

Yep, it’s a bit of a boring build, actually. Grey postwar interior and a solid exterior color. There’s a Czech civilian scheme on the decal sheet as well, though. Light Frey with red nose and leading edges. Big red registration letters and a blown sliding canopy. A bit of a change from the traditional Erla hood. -
Hasegawa Nakajima Ki-84.

Great work, Dale! Dale: The man, the machine, the legend..... -
I’ve been a bit quiet around here of late, with work and building instrument panels for the big Peacemaker. As I mentioned before, I was getting a bit burned out, so I just grabbed something off the SOD. I’ve never been a big 109 fan, but I have always had a soft spot for very early and very late versions of the venerable Messer. You folks can do the Emil’s, Freidrichs and Gustavs with all your crooked crosses, but give me the oddball conversions. I had started this postwar Jumo powered Avia a few years back and got much of the hard work done, but just sort of lost interest. This might just be the ugliest 109 iteration out there, but it and it’s crews literally saved a Nation from certain destruction in the immediate few years after the war. Not many aircraft can shoulder credit like that. So we pulled it off the shelf and dusted it off. It should be a quick, easy finish.... What y’all think? Yes? No?

You guys with your Iwatas make me wonder... I still use my ancient Paasche VL, but bought a fancy Grex at the Nats last year, but so far it's still in it's box....

FL 282 Flettner V-6

Yup it is, and to make it even more interesting, it’s a Bristol Mercury engine, so each cylinder exhausts into the collector ring, which is the leading edge of the cowl, and the cowl is a sorta NACA speed ring which almost free floats behind the exhaust collector. Nothing radical, just typical early war British radial shenanigans. I think the Beaufighter, Beaufort, Blenheim, Halifax, Swordfish, Albacore, Skua, and most other radial Brit engine installations were the same, with the cowl leading edge always being a hot meta, copper, or steel color The issue comes with having zero alignment pins, zero support, etc. nothing too far out to align, but it involves making a jig, and I was deep in my Lanc build at the time and couldn’t be bothered. I’ll haul it out and finish it one of these days, when I feel like doing some problem solving.
-
Yeah, I have a Silver Wings kit about 2/3 finished. The engine and cowl drove me nuts so I put it aside for a bit to collect my thoughts. I absolutely love the early war Polish designs. Those folks fought like demons until just overwhelmed, and the P.11C was a 109 killer. It looks benign, but it had a mighty sting

Not taking 36 to Vegas

Lanc, a Racer, and possibly something more... I thought of doing the perfect T-28, but too much on the go. Gonna plan B-36 for Omaha. N

Phil, get on out here. We’ll make you feel at home

Has anyone heard of when the availability of this one will be? This will be an IMMEDIATE build for me. Along with the IAR developments, it’s one of my all time favorite WW.2 fighters.
-
Gus, my PLAN is to drop the ramp. most that have been built were done that way as well. That way, if I don't use enough noseweight, a 1/32 pallet or two of "freight" will fix that proble. Also, I'd really love to drop those huge flaps. It's been done a few times as well.... I expect it'll be a bit more of a chore

I just found my true Grail Kit. One I had pretty much given up hope of ever finding, yet here it is, the truly amazing, mind blowing, and stunningly arse end-ugly C-7 Caribou. No, it’s not an LSM per se, but it’s the largest model of it available anywhere. I’ve been looking for literally years, and finally, after a tip from a good friend, I snagged it off Ebay Australia and I got it today. To say I'm psyched would be an understatement. This is a vac kit with all resin details included as well, and a full book of RAAF decals, enough to recreate one of every Caribou operated by the RAAF. Anyone who's seen one of these perform is awed by what it can do, and it's bigger brother the Buffalo, is even crazier. Take off and land in 650 feet at full gross....
-
I actually like this. It closes the circle for the P/F-51D so I can do my preffered postwar stuff.
-
You have the kit, Ryan? I’m not easily one impressed, but these things impressthe crap outta me. Upgrade kit gives optional canopies, teal parts, and a different decal sheet with PE
-
I think the model needs metal gear. I taped one airframe together a few years back, and it makes a 1/32 P-51 look small. But I thought so highly of these, that they’re in my “to do” pile
-
It’s a big model when done
-
Yeah, crack one of yours open, Ryan!
