  6. Did a bit of chassis work tonight while I was waiting for the paint to dry on my Lanc. No new pics because I was just adding fittings to the frame.

  10. Peter, as usual, words escape me. I look, and look, trying to go full IPMS and spot a flaw, any flaw, and there are none. The guys and gals at HPH must be shaking their heads in wonder at your level of artistry. This Mustang is truly the perfect follow up to you Canadian Spitfire racer. I hope to make it to Telford when you show this. I NEED to see this in person.
  11. Frank, I’m blown away by your incredible Alclad skill set. I know Phantoms, we all do, especially if you’re over 40 as are most of us, I expect, and yet, until yours and Martin’s back and forth, I never really ‘knew’ them, as in appreciating the nuances of these things. No wonder they’re so popular, they stretch an advanced builder’s skills right to the breaking point. I think I’m stating the obvious, but this is a SUPERB example of a modeler’s craft, true art in the finest sense.
  12. Brady, welcome aboard! Tony’s a great guy as is everyone else here. You won’t meet a nicer bunch. You won’t find anyone who builds cleaner and more precise than Tony. We here are truly blessed to see his builds improve exponentially with each completed aircraft. It’s positively uncanny and he makes me look like a toddler at work in comparison. Your racer’s starting to really look the part as well, and I must admit, first Tony, now you, have ignited the racer itch in me again. Enough to where I opened up my September Fury and Miss Merced kits to fondle some polyurethane, then went and splurged for an RB-51 Kit when a member here tipped me off. Once the Lanc’s done, I hear September Fury calling me in all her gaudy flames glory! Build on, gentlemen!

  17. Phil, I may need some tips on realistic vehicle weathering. I’m passable with aircraft, but vehicles either end up looking showroom new, or ready for the trash heap.
  18. Gazz, it’s a seriously powerful series. I’m long since become way to cynical for the Hollywood (Hollis Wood?) take on things, but this series shook me to my core.
  19. Folks, after going to the Bonham, Tx Trade Days with my wife, I be back on the bench. Heres a few close ups of the nose, side scoop, and Mk.X fuselage reinforcements. So far, all engineering has been performed courtesy of the Mk.1a eyeball and a healthy dose of SWAG. I’m somewhat pleased by the results, and an trying not to get the turret too smooth. The pics show wrinkled sheeting.

  21. A bit more nose work, with some gap sheeting installed. Understand, much of this is deduction by SWAG.
