  1. Well, it’s looking spiffy. A bit of 66 on the nose and is say she’s good for clear gloss.
  2. Ya, I’m looking at the HZ website now, and it’s interesting. You can drop a small fortune on those things. But it looks like good stuff. Are there dealers in the USA or do we order straight from them?
  3. I see y’alls benches with your brushes, tools, and paint jars all organized and all. So where do you get those, or do you build them? I use Gunze and Tamiya paint for the most part, so something that fits their jars would be cool... Ideas?
  4. Here’s the aftermath. Just pulled it all up. This will look decent later tonight. This is posted for posterity. OK, I piled a bit on for effect, but it’s being fixed right now
  5. John, you might as well tell us what you're gonna start on this Sunday, because this'll be done by then.
  6. I'm seriously ashamed of my model area. I can't generally start a kit and just work on it alone until it's done. JohnB does that to perfection, and it's amazing to me that someone can do that. Me, I work till I burn out, move to something new and work on that till I burn out. It's just how I do it. Except for GBs and such. If everyone's working together, then the excitement stays higher. Plus, because I like resin, getting burned out on certain aspects of it happens, and all I can say is that I have to shift around. Sad...
  7. Tell me about it. I'm not working on the B-36, I just took a pic when it got here. But the Tupolev, yes. All I can say is that it's insanity.
  8. At the office now, but I’ll take a pic tonight. My bench is generally maintained in a modern “Post Chernobyl” style, and once a year it gets cleaned whether it needs it or not. So for me it’s not “What’s on your bench?”, it’s more like “What isn’t on your bench?” these are a couple months back. I'll get a whole room shot for the full effect
  9. Some great pics there Maru, thanks! I forgot all about the old C-135s. I’ve spent several days on those things, back and forth to England and Germany. And I remember the Argus very well. Huge doesn’t even begin to describe that monster.
  10. Those masks are darn cool! I have a single seater to go as well, and I like some of those as possibilities.
  11. I do wish the RCAF had a Heritage Flight. Voodoo, CF-100, and Canadair Mk.Vl all passing in review. It’d be a piece of Heaven on Earth.
  12. Here’s the thing. I live 10 miles from the importer. IF you’re going to the Nats this summer, I can bring your kits with me, assuming it doesn’t get out of hand, and save your shipping.
  13. The dark grey just didn’t look right. Ivan’s helping figure it out. We’re having fun, actually.
  14. About 650.00 or so. Give or take exchange rate.
  15. I dunno guys. That’s the real call out color according to USN itself. What the heck am I missing?
  16. They’re pretty much the same with MM maybe a touch lighter. Here’s with the model next to it for comparison. Gunze was used on the model.
  17. Ok, so here’s where it gets interesting. As most jets are pretty much nothing but featureless blobs to enlightened prop guys like me, color is everything. A check of my paint used showed the dark grey to be the correct for the aircraft FS 35237, blue-grey. MM calls it medium grey. Heres a test spray. The Gunze 35 237 I used is on the left. MM 35237 enamel is lower right, and MM 35237 acrylic is top right. Oh, and yes, I’m shamelessly stirring the pot, troublemaker that I am. because we’re all laid back here....
  18. Believe me, it’s not an honor list. It’s a list of shame. There’s also an 88A-1 and 111H that are quite well along, but reboxed till later, plus the F-100 and a 388 that I acquired already started. It’s a real list of shame.
  19. Wait for it..... Tamiya Birdcage HK PBJ-1H HPH SB2C-4 KH F-5F Amodel An-22 (1/72) Amodel An-8 (1/72) HPH Tu-154M (1/72) WNW Taube WNW USAS Salmson 90th Aero Sqn. Pair-o'-Dice WNW early AEG WNW Felixstowe (my second) HK Lanc Mk.X (I cut a spotters window out, so technically it's in progress) Not a winner, but I have far, far too many started projects. I'm ashamed at this mess.
