1st LSM Christmas Raffle (list updated)
Clunkmeister replied to Clunkmeister's topic in General Discussion
Uhhhhhboy I’m gettin NUT-tin for Christmas. A big ol’ lump of coal for me, boys and girls -
I guess I need to stop talking online, stop spending so much time at the office, at the pistol and rifle range, and get back to the bench more! Even for me, only one finished T-28 is pretty sad.

1/35 Harley Davidson WLA
Clunkmeister replied to JeroenPeters's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Looking awesome Jeroen! As for the real WLA, what a machine! I never rode a WLA, but I had a WLC for a couple years, (same bike but a heavier front end), and it’s true what they say, “a 45 does 45”. LOL. You just could’t Stop those old things. Spark, oil, and fuel, and they’d run. -
That old pic give me the shivers. What happened? Drop tank let go and burst? Whatever happened, except for tires (tyres) and his Fruit-of-the-Looms, it looks like there wasn’t much for damage. Im looking to see this one done, John. Just in time for the big Airfix.

Thank you my friend, but I think it’s about perfect. Everyone gets a prize, plus a shot at the Lanc! I’m so looking forward to posting the results to this raffle. -
I must be crazy, B-24J on the bench.

So let’s buy, let’s build, and let the chips fall where they may. I, for one, can’t wait to get Christmas behind me. -
If you haven’t yet, then BUY THIS TOOL!
Clunkmeister replied to Clunkmeister's topic in Modelling Discussion
Yup, this one came with four wheels with four different spacing. I think there’s two things I love. 1. No square holes 2. Because you’re using your own blade handle, it already feels normal when you use it. That Trumpeter handle is just plain silly. -
Run, don’t walk, to your computer and buy this. Right now. I’ve had riveters and have always been disappointed with the results. Radu gave me this at the Nats last year and just said “Try It”. Tonight, I tried it. Goodnight Irene! This thing, on the very first attempt, gave me perfect rivet divots. Not square holes, but nice rivets that match the kit pattern. It saved me days of tedious punching one at a time and it looks perfect. Radu, I’m sorry I took so long. I was incredibly sceptical, but you’ve just made a believer out of me This is one simple, yet effective tool. It fits on your trust Xacto handle so it feels comfortable from the very first.

Kitty Hawk F-5F done.

Well, we needed to verify straightness, and yes, a slight bit of coaxing was necessary to bring the rear back to plumb, but it seems ok now. One small area on the starboard side where theere is some slight etching and on the port side where the etches were crazy deep. Dissolved putty again for deep etches, some sanding for the rezt -

Thanks for the airfoil profile, Hubert. The kit is livable, AM will fix the turrets, engines, wheels, guns, etc, but I’m really going to try something with the wing root, just for onsee if it’s doable. Once I get a kit in hand, we’ll see, but who knows. This is a must do model, but for me at least, one where the the aftermarket needs to catch up to my wants and desires. I do thank HB for bringing it out, however this even more makes me appreciate Neil and the guys at HK who were willing to listen to and take the input from the LSM Admins when it came to making needed changes to the Lancaster. The Lanc speaks for itself! -

Yep he does. schmuk -
Gaz, you hit the. Nail on the head. I discussed this with Smitty awhile ago, and the big problem doesn’t seem to be the F-100, but instead the SEA camo. I’ve never seen one that I thought looks good. To me even the real birds just don’t do it for me. I’ve got a full meal deal Thud 2 seater in my stash with two complete GT Super Sets, one for an F, one for a G, all the special Weasel missiles, brass gear, wheels, Eduard, decals, you name it, and zero motivation for a camo Bird. But the F set was bought with the possibility that I’d find a NMF 2 seater Weasel I liked, but alas, I think they’re rare as a lobster on a bicycle.

Good grief! How did I miss THIS? Beautiful build, Kai, you’re showing us again that you’re a true Master builder. Those scratchbuilt extras are stunning, and your camo? Just WOW! -

Like was said earlier, it’s much better than the Tamiya B-24.
