  1. In one respect I’m happy I’ve outgrown the exploded LEGO factory years, and R/C helicopter cat attacks, but we still have the dreaded turkey coma afternoons. I want to personally thank Harv. The very LAST thing I need here is another kit, so Joy got with him ang he hooked her up with some suggestions on paint, brushes, and supplies, the stuff we REALLY need. Yeah, kits are nice, for the 10 minutes until they go into the stash, but supplies get used immediately.
  2. Merry Christmas, y’all! Here’s to hoping we wake up in the morning with no news. I don’t want to hear that F-22s, MuG-31s, Su-27s, CF-18s, or Tornados flamed the Red sleigh....
  3. So, here’s my thought, guys. I’m going to have Joy help me with this in the morning. I’m goin to place the names in my Old West Traveling Preacher’s hat, and draw the prizes one by one, down the list, in the order they are recorded on the list I have been updating. Once all the prizes have been awarded, all the names will go back into the hat and I will then draw for the Grand Prize of the HK Models Lancaster kit. My wife Joy will be video recording the drawing on my iPhone, and after the drawings are complete, I will post the results here, and also attempt to upload the video either to here or to the Facebook page, whichever is easier. I offer the video for full transparency. Good Luck y’all and have a Very Merry Christmas!
  4. No it’s not, but I like the scale effect of shading, IF you pre shade correctly. Im undecided on it actually. Paint is not enough effect, and Aviattic is a bit too much. Happy medium somewhere?
  5. It’s sitting when I decide what to do with the wings. I ordered some Aviattic linen and I think I’ll use it. Nothing stopping me from finishing it now. Maybe jump back in as soon as I’m done the F-5F. It’s almost there....
  6. Gaz, did the Luftwaffe ever use NMF Sabres or Starfighters? Or were they all camo? I'll only do one Sabre. A glorious Golden Hawks version, all shined up for the airshow season. Gimme sugar scoops baby! Even the most hardened F-86 must have his heart thawed a bit by the sight of that team in flight.
  7. My problem with buying kits is that along with WW1 models, we are seriously in the Golden Age of Large Scale Multi Engine Bombers and Transports, and those are my first love. And of course they go out of production quick, so if you want one you gotta grab while the grabbing's good.
  8. That's one of my all time favorite schemes.
  9. Awesome donation, sir! I assume you want to be entered in the drawing as well?
  10. That’s it? I’ll enter the bear nuts if you’re putting it in.
  11. LOL Gaz, Ya know, I really should change my Avatar..... that had to be one of my favorites of all time....
  12. LOL, thanks. It’s got it’s flaws, believe me. I think the yellow’s not quite correct, close, but not quite right, and, it’s blotchy in spots. But so was the original, so who knows. I build Kitty Hawk T-28s with my eyes closed now, but I tried to get cute with this one, and it cost me the jigsaw locking alignment this kit can give you if you do it right. But, I wrestled it through.
  13. This may be where we finally learn the answer to the age old Indian question: “Who’s quicker? The Eagle? or The Bear?”
  14. Hahahaha no, it’s no too late. Go for it. Umm, raffle donations or nutty nutz pics?
  15. This is why I love you guys!
  16. And right back to where we were a week ago. Lost a week, but no harm, no foul.
  17. Uhhhhhboy I’m gettin NUT-tin for Christmas. A big ol’ lump of coal for me, boys and girls
  18. I guess I need to stop talking online, stop spending so much time at the office, at the pistol and rifle range, and get back to the bench more! Even for me, only one finished T-28 is pretty sad.
  19. Ok ok ok ok.... well it is.......
  20. This is some seriously good news for the RAF and VVS modelers in the House. Yes!!!!!
  21. More like coconuts in panty hose.
  22. Tom, you have every right to be proud. This is one of the finest builds I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen a bunch. Like you I’ve been leery of Airfix. I’ve had my moments with Airfix kits as a kid in the 60s and 70s, and haven’t touched them since. You’ve restored my faith. Brilliant work!
