You could of course, just cast the entire forward interior in lead or, if you’re Martin, depleted uranium. That might help some.

Funny thing about canvas builds. I was and am VERY happy with the wings on my Felixstowe. I thought they really looked the part, sea weathered. Maybe too sea weathered for the Felix, which was the pride of the RNAS and treated as such, but for the look I was shooting for, I think I achieved it perfectly. I’ve seen plenty of well weathered salt water operated ragwing floatplanes in my days flying up north around Hudson Bay, and I copied that look exactly. But nobody else thought so, at least no IPMS judges do, so “look” is all subjective. The same Felix came within a vote of taking the Big Eage at this year’s Squadron EagleQuest, so like I said, it’s subjective... Your wings look great.

That’s OK, last year, a newspaper in California ran a Fourth of July “Salute” to the Nation by snowing a military jet team flyover trailing red, white, and blue smoke. Problem was, they grabbed a stock photo off the internet of... a Russian team with Su-25s and the colors were the white, blue, and red of Russia, not red, white, and blue for the USA, OOPS! Knowing California reporters, they probably did it on purpose and did it proudly.

Yes, the issue with Carl getting his own item was my mistake. I drew Hubert’s name, but I was truly whupped from running all day long that I screwed up and put Carl’s name in by mistake. I was announcing it all on a video at the same time. so who entered and didn’t win something? Martin and I had talked and he was going to offer Max’s gift up to others, but maybe if Max is here as an alias?? I’d like to know who didn’t win because I’ll fix that real quick... As for Max, he’s a real decent bloke and personally, I really miss him.

Well, in the interest of advancing all possibilities in fixes here, Iain is trying a rather promising looking radical surgery over on TOS that looks somewhat major but looks like it might just work. He overlayed the two aerofoils on top of each other using a computer plotter, then determined through a complicated series of grids, graphs, vectors, and calculations, that if he bends the aerofoil down at about the 1/3 chord and flattens the bottom the corresponding amount, he will get the Davis profile, or close enough to it. Then, he bends the trailing edge down a few degrees without moving the leading edge and that gives him the Davis profile and the proper angle of incidence on the wing which eliminates the "trailing edge is too high" complaint and "wing is too flat" complaints all in one swoop. It sounds complicated, and yes, any of you who are my age or older probably recognized the Rube Goldberg inflections in my decriptions, but in all seriousness, the guy's a bleedin' wizard with plastic and I'm looking forward to see what happens.
