  3. I will unpack and give a quick sprueshot review tonight of a brand new aircraft kit!!’
  4. Oh boy! I NEED this kit! awesome!
  5. The loose end of the paper is on the OUTSIDE of the roll, as shown in the original Patent application. 😄
  6. Hey Buddy. Glad you’re getting settled in. FYI, Harv had told me a long time ago, but at his request, kept it quiet until he was ready to break the news. I love both Harv and Bev, and I know they both care deeply for one another. Im glad you were able to acquire a new house and car, my friend. I’m thinking a 55-56 Ford hardtop or a 1955-1957 Thunderbird would look mighty good on you.
  7. I also have the esteemed Podpolkovnik Hatalovic working on it on his end.
  8. Nice! I built their 1/32 P.11C and it was an absolute pleasure to build.
  9. Thanks for the feedback on 1/24, folks. Duly noted and it won’t be separated from 1/35 and larger.
  10. You’ll notice a couple small changes in our LSM Work in Progress area. Let’s face it, we all build in all scales. 1/48 is a popular scale for a reason, and we have allowed 1/48 as an LSM for a couple years now, SO….. To allow our 1/48 builds the recognition they deserve, I’ve created a new sub forum titled LSM 1/48 Work in Progress, and I’ve moved a couple in progress 1/48 builds to there. I’ve also retitled the previous WIP as 1/35 and larger. I’ll be tweaking a few of the forums as we go forward, with the simple goal of making this a bit more user friendly. As always, I’m open to ideas. Moderators will be tweaking it now that it’s set up, but you can help by moving your 1/48 build to the 1/48 area, right beside the 1/35 and larger area. If 1/24 becomes more popular, I may entertain a separate 1/24 and larger sub forum. Also, we have a complete armor area, y’all. Please use it!
  11. Will be winners choice of a Kotare Spitfire or a ZM Bf-109, either of which will be shipped from the closest model haus to the winner.
  12. I do remember the issues everyone here had in getting ahold of the first new Revell P-51D-5 release. It was unavailable anywhere in the US and had to be gotten from Europe or from Loic.
  13. This does look promising. For one, I’m a real fan of a closed up airframe, and Kotare seems to have delivered. The open radio or storage hatch bugs me, though. But as was said by PanzerWomble, the armored fuel tank is a Mk.l thing and it’s good to see it wasn’t missed. Like others, I’m also anxious to see how the open hood sits on the spine.
  14. Thanks guys. I liter.ly can’t see it hardly at all. 🤣. The good news is that it’s a Sword kit, so that means good detail and decent Czech short run plastic. Everything seems to fit when doing the tape test. No seatbelts in the kit at all.
  15. I get it. I do. But I do hate to punish the little guy. I’m not sure of any alternatives out there, though. If so, I’d love to hear about them.
  16. This might be a bit of a challenge. I don’t think I’ve ever built this small before, and I’ll need to get magnifiers for my Optivisor. I’m unsure what to do here.
  17. I expect Quinta will have them shortly, as it’s a brand new kit, and there is a war raging over there. I’d be inclined to spring for some wheels as well, simply because I dislike dealing with seams on wheels.
  18. It looks good. I haven’t received my notice yet, either. Looking at that instruction book, I see there is NO doubt as to which team brought this kit out. This looks like a winner. I REALLY hope that rear fuselage door will install closed without having to resort to sanding, scraping, and filling.
  19. John, I have the kit. I had grabbed one from Hannants a while back. The kit is incredibly detailed, and the majority of the build time will be devoted to the cockpit area. My first impressions are that the surface detail is amazing, with the fabric surfaces and unique fasteners reproduced magnificently. There are pin marks everywhere. Especially in the cockpit area. The seat is 4 pieces, and both seat side plates have pin marks that’ll stand out like a flashing light. That’s easily fixable of course, as are the others. It IS a Revell kit, so there are molding compromises made in order to maintain a price point: exhaust stacks are two parts for each side, landing gear legs and wheels are multiple parts, etc. There isn’t a single bit of PE to be seen, anywhere in the kit, and no seatbelts are provided or even molded on the seats. That seems to be getting more commonplace as most builders add their own, anyway. This is a kit where a Quinta 3D instrument panel, (or similar brand) with really benefit the model. The cockpit is FULL of detail, and it’ll be the finishing touch. As of now, decals are provided for a decently molded panel. How much of that will be seen when the fuselage is closed up is a mystery. That cockpit opening is small, and the fuselage is deep. Two canopies are provided: one open, and one closed.
  20. Don’t forget the Parafrags. Plus, FYI, the engine gear case and prop blades aren’t even close to being correct.
  21. Short of a bit of fading, im ready to call the Hawk done. I’m having a hard time figuring out what this particular aircraft had as fas as a wireless and corresponding antennae. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the arrangement. Some have an aerial from the fin to the fuselage above the side hatch, other AVG aircraft have a dipole strung from the fin to each wingtip, some show an aerial from the fin to a farther forward area just behind the greenhouse, with a coax dropped from it to the radio room. Yet others show no wireless antenna whatsoever. Supposedly, CAMCO purchased 100 RCA wireless systems for installation, but there seems to be no firm indication on what was done. Photos of this particular airframe do not show any antenna system at all. So until I see proof one way or another, I’ll not install one at all.
  22. Very nicely executed little scene. I can almost smell the soot, burned paint and plastic from here. Good to see the hood open, meaning he was able to scramble out before the smoke got him.
