HB Models B-24 Hints, Tweaks, Tips
1to1scale replied to Clunkmeister's topic in Modelling Discussion
You can slot them like tank model turrets, so they can be removed and replaced later. -

The laws vary from each state, some allow personal exercise, some allow one other person. Here in TN, we can get curbside to go margaritas! They are still being a little cranky about drinking them in the car... -
Hasegawa BF109F-4- finished!

That looks fantastic! I have heard that this new tool is the best German Hasegawa kit in their lineup. -

Lol, try build several P-40s at once, I have about 100 sprues in four boxes around me. Every time I cut a last part off the sprue, I cut it into little pieces and throw them in the trash. I still have about 60 sprues left. It’s a build concept I will never do again. From now on, max of two at a time. -

I usually do a deep clean of the desk whenever I finish a phase of a project, help keep your mind clear. It’s therapeutic. -
What is on your bench right now ? Share a picture :)

No big deal, can you crack the nose ring off and install the new one? -
I’m guessing since all those German soldiers crawling around, they were probably shot down.

Need help deciding my next Tamiya kit.

The special version of the Mustang I have came with a bonus set of decals for “HHH”, but I still have about 10 decal sheets I have collected, and I may even use one of the HGW sheet versions as well. -

I appreciate everyone’s opinions about these, for some reason, the F-16 wasn’t calling to me. But for some reason, this Mustang makes me happy when I touch the sprues. I still have not decided yet what version, but thinking about “Hurry Home Honey”, I guess that it will take me about at least two weeks to get started. I still want to at least get a few P-40 painted before I start this. -

I opened some boxes today and fondled some plastic, and my spidey sense was tingling off the scale.... -
1/32 HobbyBoss Invader A-26B (a Joke?)

I don’t think the engines would be hard to correct, I’m guessing somebody like Brassin will make a replacement set. -

Right now, the top 4 on my list are these: 1. Mustang (thunderbird air racer) 2. F-16 3. F-15D (combining E front with CJ back) 4. F-4D (MI ANG) I'm still researching and deciding, but of all these, the Mustang is calling me the loudest. (Yes, my unbuilt models talk to me) -

My intention was not to have a political rant, but to just share experiences with how we are all in this together. After all, no matter what our individual governments are doing, we are still being affected. Please keep this thread civil and just share how things are going for you. myself, this is now day 18, the governor has now ordered a “safer at home” directive here in TN, as things are still getting worse. I have become the defacto delivery man & head chef for my family, and am doing my best to home school my son, but he is not getting anywhere near the education he is used to. I have a feeling things will get even worse here. ...but positive news, the gov has waived the open container law, so now you can order alcoholic beverages from any place that serves food for pickup or delivery! Yay...Mojitos and margaritas this weekend! Wait a minute...every day is a weekend now. -

Wow, the F-16? I didn’t expect that, I thought everyone would have said the P-51 or Spitfire. I actually have all the paint I need and a set of HGW transfers for it. I will definitely move that to the top of the list. -
I Need help deciding my next Tamiya kit. I need a mojo restorer. Here are my criteria... 1. Fast build, no filling and sanding, no must needed mods (maybe resin tires). 2. Not a million parts, this disqualifies the Mossie. Something with 300 parts or less. Here are what I have in my inventory, let me know which one is the most hassle free. F-4E F-4J F-4C/D F-16 F-15J F-15E P-51D Spitfire VIII Spitfire IX A6M2 Zero F4U-1 F4U-1D I have been leaning toward on of the Spitfires or Mustang, but the Phantom and Eagle also interest me. I’m hoping to avoid a kit that needs a lot of sanding and filler work. Please share your experiences.

Today was a total disappointment, I sprayed the clears after finishing masking, then checked my work. Not a single one of these is ready for paint. Everyone has seam issues that this stupid modular Hasegawa construction caused. I spent the afternoon reapplying filler in seams and divots...again. This delays paint by a week at least. This is a motivational buggering. I may have to put these back on the SOD and work on something else for a while.

Definitely vent out the window, however, in the winter months I tie an old t-shirt to the end of the vent hose. He first stage is the booth filter, the second is the t-shirt for smaller particles. However, for lacquer, I vent directly outside. This year I plan to permanently install a dryer vent outside and run a hose through the wall to my spray booth. As I am switching over to lacquer paint, I need to find a winter time spaying solution.
