  1. I hope it turns out looking good. Fingers crossed. 🙂
  2. I intend to go full time on it now so should have it completed in a few days.
  3. I hate to say it but it doesn't look like my photo shopped decals for the checker boards is going to work out. The white decal paper I printed them out on is extremely flimsy and wrinkles up at the slightest touch. I've tried a couple of approaches and it's still unsatisfactory (and that is on the easy part on the rudder). I hate to think what it would be like trying to get them on the cowling! If they weren't so flimsy then maybe it would work. I've considered going on and using the black & white set which would probably do okay but it's just not the way I want it to be. I'm setting the model aside for now but, from time to time, I'll re-visit the decal problem. Who knows, I might stumble on a workable solution some time.
  4. As of today. Getting there!
  5. The needed decal/photo/printer paper is supposed to be delivered today.
  6. I neglected to paint the cowl flaps white so I'll have to fix that today. This is the a/c I intend to finish it as. 🙂
  7. I know you will whip it into shape just fine Peter. 🙂
  8. Question: When you do thin MRP what do you thin it with? Their "thinner" doesn't want to work and clabbers the paint.
  9. LOL Peter. Since it was a "side build" I didn't post a WIP. I'll post some photos later today.
  10. Close! LOL
  11. I like lacquers okay but enamel is my #1. I really like Tamiya's acrylics and can only imagine how good their Luftwaffe and US WW II colors would be. I do a little mixing but prefer not to if I can find the color(s) I'm wanting in someone's line of paints. I'm not a big fan of Mr. Color but I still use it from time to time. The RLM 76 on the '190 I'm building is Mr. Color.
  12. Coming along nicely and looking good Peter. 🙂
  13. As a "side job" while working on the Corsair I've been working on this Revell '190A. Something to stay busy with, etc. As you can see it's coming along well.
  14. I figured it would be a good idea to paint the nose and rudder areas where the checks will go a gloss white. This should provide a good "base" for the photo shopped checks. Fingers crossed.
  15. I figured as much. They are missing the boat!
  16. Thanks Chris. I hope I can successfully photo shop these b&w ones but we will see. Sure P's me off at those people. There won't be any more Hussar decal purchases for me.
  17. I wouldn't even consider masking all that off! LOL
  18. I'm waiting for some Inkjet decal paper to get here (Thursday). Then I can print out the checker board markings. If things go as planned I should have some useable decals and can finish the model.
  19. I have some decals for a Dragon kit that wasn't a good kit and I didn't build. This set of decals has the checker board design on it but in black/white. I'm going to try to do some photo shop work on it and see if I can change the black areas to dark blue. If that works out (fingers crossed) then maybe I can complete this build in the scheme I want. If not then I'll find a different scheme, etc.
  20. As far as I can see there are no suggestions or recommendations. Pretty poor marketing so buyer beware! They should make it clear with capitol letters on the packaging that the checker board markings aren't included. Looks like false marketing to me. And yes, I'm PO'd! (This is my first set of Hussar decals and likely my last.) Right now I'm trying to figure out what to do.
  21. The decals arrived but there's a BIG problem. No white checker board markings were included! I sent the seller a inquiry hoping it was just a oversight but I have a bad feeling about it. Now I'll have to put the model aside until that is resolved. If they don't provide the markings they should say so when listing the sheet for sale. In the mean time I'll start looking for alternate markings. ALWAYS SOMETHING! I did some checking at the Hussar web site and evidently there are no checker board markings included in the sheet. I'm going to look around to see if someone else has a sheet that has the needed markings. No luck in 1/32.
  22. Painted and a few decals applied. Now I'm waiting for the post man to deliver my mail today as the Hussar decal sheet is slated to deliver today. If it DOES show up today then I can start on the rest of the markings. I expect to have it finished by tomorrow PM IF the decals arrive today. 🙂
  23. I've decided to start thinning the stash starting with some of my armor kits. There are 6 kits in this first batch. All are complete and untouched.
  24. That's a great looking '109 Kevin! Well done with some nice weathering, etc. I like it! 🙂
