Nice and glossy Gaz! The decals should lay down nicely then I'll overspray with semi-gloss.

Easy peasy Peter. It just takes a lot of paint! LOL (I used up all my gloss yellow!)
-
Thank you Peter. It works with all of the lighter colors, white, light gray, etc.
-
Thanks Carl. I agree, yellow can be a problem. As it is I had to apply 2 coats of flat and 3 of gloss to get satisfactory coverage. 🙄
-
Painting completed. Now just waiting for the decals which are supposed to deliver this Friday. Remember to click on the photo for best resolution.
-
Thanks Peter. Just many years of experience.
-
I decided to go on and paint the black control surfaces. I'll mask them off when I paint the gloss yellow.
-
Thanks Kai. It's just Testor's flat yellow from their little .25 oz bottle. Same with the gloss yellow. I figure using flat yellow for a primer/base coat would work well.
-
All primed with flat yellow and about ready for the gloss yellow. I don't have the decals in hand yet but should be ready for them when they show up.

Good looking 262 build Jerry. Nice work!
-
It's coming along well Gaz and I hope to have it paint ready in a couple of days.
-
Thanks Peter. Luckily the plug fit okay and didn't take a whole lot of work. Although the wing roots have tons of putty they are smoothing out well. I hope to get the canopy, ailerons, rudder and elevators attached soon.
-
Coming right along. I still have a lot to do before I can hit it with some primer overall.

Thanks Troy. With racers we don't have to stick with "cookie cutter" color schemes and markings. It's nice to have something a bit different to build.
-
Thanks Peter. A pretty unusual setup I must say. LOL
-
LOL Carl. Thanks!

Got the prop and spinner done. Kinda strange to have the pitot tube on the nose of the spinner! I'll overspray with some semi-gloss to tone down the glossiness later on.

That is some very nice work Gaz! Looks realistic. -
One lucky dude!

For about the 3rd or 4th time Clear the Bridge by Dick O'Kane. The war patrols of the USS Tang which he commanded. Excellent WW II submarine read.
-
Thank you Peter. The ex-warplane racers are really cool and interesting to me. A number of them had really good looking paint schemes which will make some very attractive models. It's nice for a change of pace.

Shiny for sure Gaz. (There's a color view there also.)

Me too Ernie! LOL

Should be another eye catcher Carl. The extension is several layers of plastic sheet I trimmed to fit the rear fuselage. All the SH P-39's have too short fuselages by about 3/16" so, for accuracy, they need the extension.
