Both were enjoyable builds but the Tamiya was a bit more involved with more bomb bay details and cockpit details. Fit was a little better if I remember right (3 yrs ago on the HK).

It's a really nice kit Kevin and I know you will enjoy the build. I look forward to following along! (Here's a pic of the one I built a couple of years ago.)

Santa came in the mail. Married folks can relate

LOL Ernie! Since I have been divorced for quite a long time I don't need to get a opinion from a wife (or girl friend for that matter!). I have a hard enough time deciding on which kit to build and in what markings etc without someone else's opinion. LOL Roll on my friend!!! -
Lancaster ND644 in 32nd scale
JohnB replied to FME erk's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
This will make a really nice Lancaster. Too bad there are so many things to correct, etc. For the price it shouldn't be that way. At any rate, I look forward to following your build! (At least the wireless ops windows are in the right place!) -
I wonder if this particular Lanc was new or passed on from another squadron, etc.

I just hope to live long enough to see my top 2, Hellcat & Wildcat. Come on kit manufacturers, I'm getting older by the minute!
-
I agree Phil. Fingers crossed they will!

I'm a little surprised no one has already started this. So....I will LOL. Not necessarily in order, all 1/32. (I know some are available now from Trumpeter and others but, in my humble opinion, they leave a lot to be desired or are difficult to find.) F6F Hellcat series F4F Wildcat series F4U-4 P-51B/C F9F Panther and Couger F8F Bearcat A-20G B-26 Marauder P-38G/H PV-2 Harpoon Hawker Typhoon That pretty well covers my wish list.

An assortment of completed builds for 2020

Some very nice work there Carl! Well done. -
At least the B-24 is 1/72 Ernie. LOL

Thank you Mike!

Thanks Gaz! Yes I do like the Hellcat and Wildcat. I have a couple of Hellcats that I built a few years ago and another in the stash. As for Wildcats, there just isn't a accurate 1/32 kit out there or I'd be building some. The Trumpeter model has some significant problems with the fuselage behind the cockpit (too wide). Too bad. Maybe Tamiya will some day issue a kit of both a/c in 1/32. THAT would be outstanding! (By the way, that's a P-63, not a P-39. )

Thanks Ernie. That's fine with me.

Nice work there!!!

Tamiya Mosquito finished
JohnB replied to JohnB's topic in LSM 1/32 and Larger Aircraft Ready for Inspection
Thanks Kevin! -
Thanks Gaz. I didn't go "over the top" on adding wiring, etc since it would be hard to easily see. And I'm lazy.
-
Just about finished with the front end. I painted it with my mix of flat scale black and added some Eduard instrument panels, etc. Seats, since they were leather, I painted straight flat black. And you can see where the wireless ops windows have been re-located (messy inside, not outside!).
