A Wee Side Project: the Airfix Car Door Tiffie
JohnB replied to Uncarina's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Looking good Tom. -
I think this set would be okay for a B/C with a few small adjustments. The floor should be fine also. Find yourself some good photos and or diagrams and you should be good to go.
-
Thanks guys. I look forward to seeing some photos Peter!
-
Thanks. I'm not sure if it would be right for a B/C. I'd recommend checking photos. The Detail & Scale book on the early Mustangs would be a good place to begin. I'll take a look and see what's what.

That's a beauty! Very nice work.

Looks like a December release.
-
I saw where this was to be released this month so has anyone seen anything on it?

Welcome Gaz! Glad you made the change!
-
I'd say Andy (Kagemusa) should look in that mirror too.

TRUMPETER 1/32 P-40B TOMAHAWK
JohnB replied to k5ikl's topic in LSM 1/32 and Larger Aircraft Ready for Inspection
Good looking build. Welcome! -
Sure is! I do a LOT of old school.
-
Agreed Peter. The kit supplied one just isn't up to par.
-
Thanks Phil. Good old stretched sprue. This one took three tries before I got it right!
-
Thanks Mike. Enjoyable builds for sure!

Thanks guys! My internet has been down for 3 days and now I'm doing some catch up.

As this will be my 2nd of their P-51A's and a A-36 I'm a bit ahead of the game in knowing what to expect and modify. As I will be using the outstanding Vector cockpit set on this build, as I did on the 1st "A" and the "36", the first thing to do is get rid of all the raised locator ridges, etc on the inside of the fuselage. That done I can now finish cleaning up the resin Vector parts and prepare for painting the inside, etc.
-
I've built the A-36 and a "A" previously so I don't think there will be any surprises. I'll be using the VERY nice resin cockpit from Vector which really makes a big difference in the model. My eye is on the one on the cover of Dana's new book on USAAF colors. Very weathered! All geared up and ready for the Corsair Peter! I look forward to watching your build.

Hold the phone guys! I've changed my mind. The P-47 goes back on the shelf for now. HobbyCraft P-51A is calling my name! Now that I've finished the P-51A I can get started on this kit. Still planning to do Pengie II.

Should make a good looking model and it will be the only razorback jug in my collection in 1/32.
-
Thanks Carl.
-
Thanks. No, only with the engine covers off.
-
Thanks Ernie.

I plan to model the P-47D flown by Gabreski and Gladych, 56th FG using decals and info supplied in the AJ Press book 56th Fighter Group Pt.1. as my next build.
