Mum decided in her infinite (or is that non existent) wisdom to get another cat during lockdown. We already have a 10 year old Tonkinese called Mylo, but she went out and bought a 5 year ex breeding female named Simone. Dad and I both warned her that this would not be good and Mylo would react badly. Fast forward 2 days, we have Simone chasing Mylo, claws and fur flying, hissing, growling and a general "I will murder you" vibe coming from Mylo and poor Simone hiding. Of coruse mum has the shits with me because apparently "I told you so" is something she didn't want to hear.
Anyways, anyone know any good ways to get the cats to like each other?
When my daughter split up with her husband, I got stuck with the dog. I hate it. And moreover, the thing is biting my dog on the neck causing sores. I would love to see that dog gone. But between wife and daughter, I'd be the most hated man on the planet.
Oh,... and to stay on topic... due to recent covid cases in my general area... the same area where my modelling club meets... this month's meeting has been cancelled.
Totally pissed off!

I like your Dora with her elegant lines. It's like something graceful slipped in a mottled camo dress. There are not many builds of D's without a colourful but distracting waistband. Could have lived with another pic from a little more up, showing the wings camo with the fuselage mottling, because it seems to contrast nicely.
Cheers Rob
Thank you, Rob!

Thank you! I'm no fan of the older Eduard kits. I've still to buy any of the newer FW's.

Congrats Gaz, you nailed the M-47, a rarely seen model in early Bundeswehr livery with figures. Speaking of them, I think they look great and add a nice contrast to the tank.
The richness of the colours in your natural light pics is great, with that deep and rich olive green. Were the copperish parts on the tracks to add even more contrast, or is that depicting the real thing?
I know, how good it feels to throw away the box of a finished kit, That and adding the spare parts to the big spares box seals it to me and then there is always the cleaning of the bench for the next kit.Cheers Rob
Hi Rob,
Thank you for the kind comments. The color I sought is that of rust is only a few days old. It came out a bit more orange than intended. I used to serve in an M-109A3 battery.
Within a day of being scrubbed clean by dirt then hosed off, the tracks would start to rust. They'd go through various orange shades until they finally became a rich brown rust color. And when the machine started to move, you could hear the rust breaking in each joint and pin, making orange-ish dust which I tried to portray on the drive sprockets. Where there was contact between wheels, guide horns, sprockets, and tracks, any rust would quickly yield the metal underneath.
I'm glad you like it!

Mostly OOB except for a few metal parts and other bits supplied by the household.
This one is modelled from a JG 3 machine.
Thanks for looking!

Hello friends,
It's been a good day for modelling. I completed two kits and threw away their boxes... a little ceremony I go through every time I finish a build. Anyway... it's a nice kit. Probably comparable to Tamiya in fit and detail. The Dolp metal figurines weren't the best, but at least they had the period uniform for 1955.
Thanks for looking!

Some of Dragon's earliest armour kits were re-boxes of Gunze's Hi Tech mixed media kits. They tooled up plastic parts to replace the white metal and PE parts in the original kits, sort of like what they did with the Tri Master plane kits.
Well, you'll be happy to know that the parts in the Neo kit have much nicer detail than the Imperial line.

Gaz, both look stunning, hope the MG on Jäger is restrained as the commander is going to have one headache..........love the camo on the 190......
Thanks mate! The Fifty is in a real awkward position. And there is a restraint that grabs the end of the barrel, but that is glued flat to the turret. I'll have to live with it as it's glued in place, now.

I'll be interested to see what this turns into. I was in a USMC F4 squadron for a few months, but have never had more than a casual interest in Phantoms. I even built a 1/72 scale kit of one back in the 80's. But I couldn't definitively tell one variant from another.

Looking forward to this, haven’t see the Neo kits built up yet, all my PZ III’s and VI’s are Dragon. You always have a plethora of spare parts with them......
Phil, Thank you for replying. Yes, there are a lot of sprues and a lot of parts. Even tiny wingnuts! The only III's I've built are from the Dragon Imperial line which I think are re-pops from another company.

Thanks for the interest, Carl. The Pz III is my favorite despite it's usually puny armament. Just love the way it looks.

I have always felt that Dragon kits were special. I love the detail and plastic quality. And this one was a gift from my daughter.
I've already cleaned and painted the rubber on the road wheels and return rollers.
Starting on the suspension and nicely detailed hull tub, I've found that the suspension can be made to be active.
All I have to do is cut off these locator pegs...
A pleasant surprise was to find an added piece of directions for the interior.
I generally don't do interiors. The last Pz.III I built didn't have much interior, so I hid the interior with crew members posed in the hatches. But on this one, I might have to place some crew on the outside.
Anyway... lots of parts, lots of choices, and lots of stuff to try to avoid ruining.
Thanks for looking!

Rob,
Would you know offhand how many of these were issued in Wood and CDL. before the lozenge came into effect?

Hi Rob,
I didn't realize you had this one going. Love the dinged floats and the IP. Your work on the wood grain is exemplary. I will remember to look in on this and watch your progress.
I have this kit, too but am not overly in love with it due to the limited marking options. I'm still hoping to find that rare photo that will inspire me to build it.

Nice Gaz, but do you have pics of the 'Jager' writing,
This tank is an amalgam of two tanks. Red 414 with oversized crosses, and Jager... I didn't try my hardest to get the font correct... but no Umlauts.

Today was spent mostly with oils. Pin washing and dry brushing.
I tried something new here. Instead of a universal pin wash in one color, I used a different color pin wash for each paint color. My wish is that sometimes you see a panel line, and sometimes you don't. Or, sometimes the panel line teases your eye... is it there, or isn't it? I hope it turns out visually interesting.

I've got (among other things) Roden's Dr.1 on the bench.
I ran into an issue with the tailplane. The gussets for the upper elevator control cables are space widely apart from top to bottom.
You can see a small white dot below the gusset; it's from where I drill a tiny hole from the other side.
I did some checking, and it appears that the locations are correct. Now, how to drill through and hit the right spot on the other side?
I made up two pieces...
I tried to drill in my drill press, but the steepangle and the small diameter of the drill made it impossible. The drill just deflected when it hit the plastic.
I resorted to drilling by hand. I started perpendicular to the surface, then changed the angle as I progressed, until the drill was horizontal (or nearly so.
I still need to open the hole a wee bit, but it goes through, and hit the right spot on the other side!
I ruined the tailplane of my Roden Dr. I trying that.

But what we DO need is another 109.
When I complain about the umpteenth rendition of Robin Hood on film... or any other movie I saw 20-40 years ago (my wife tells me) is that they aren't making the movie for me. They are making it for the younger folks who haven't seen it yet.
Likewise, while you have been staring at 1/32 scale 109's your entire adult life, I went for 35 years without touching a model. So, any new 109 is a replacement for the ones I wasn't able to build during that time. I still haven't built the latest Revell G6 nor g10. Or the Hasegawa G6 though all three have recently come into my possession.
Meanwhile, how many Corsairs has Tamiya sold? I think people should start saying "like we need another Corsair".

Fantastic work, Rob! Map and pencils! Amazing. Something I'll have to consider when I do mine.
Good show!
