  2. Hi am big photo impression from what I am doing right now I go in to details later when the P-61 is back on it's stand I was not able to keep me from putting it legs yesterday. the big flaps need to adjust and all the windows are just loose also the green top part. it is a bit dusty needed to clean up some seems. Especially the nose I just think mine was a bad one it have some bubbles in it and on the out side it was like a mm to big so that took some work but now flush with the rest. I did not install the PE of the intakes after one fight I gave up lol now it is not visible but I made the interior on the inner ones and the outer ones are the parts ready I glue them in there later first need to spray Chrome in those black holes. Now the engine covers are terrible to install and the missing fire wall gives it a see through that especially after painting really noticeable is so that need to be fixed. I just love the fine detail only on top of the spine some rivets need to be a bit deeper so very relaxing job hehe. more....

Well done the panel lines need to touche up some spots I notice taking photo's installed the doors and seatbelts they need to be painted later close up photo's later. The landingear is fixed now so need to start the decals but first high gloss also to seal the red paint so I can repair whatnI think is from greasy finger spots where the paint came off. Have fun Johan Bos

  8. Great paint work Bevan I like the exhaust and the exhaust stains
  9. I used a toothpick to get the front arm fix in the hole it is all dry fit now and it feels sturdy. now some red did the black almost faded from what is see on some older tomcats. The bombs are under way and the laser pot glued a Lipton tea bag very fin mess on the back of it. Have fun and more soon Johan Bos
  10. For the landing gear I do two use a base of alcad black because I can chip it with the help of vallejo thinner and a tooth pick. the tanks need to be cut so the fall over the hard points and the landing gear leg need to be a bit under a angle like the real one to give room for the tank. more
  11. Hi thank you for all the kind words I did lots of work on the Tomcat and I wanted to show you how it looks on its wheels. I did have trouble with the pant coming loose when I pulled the tape from some spots think the surface is to smooth did not sand these areas bud I will repair them later this week. The last week we got new machine a Hankook 1400 mm carousel with c axel so that need some extra attention it toook 3 weeks to install and needed to work with the latest Okuma lathes and all new products so very busy. here the new Hankook. Now the Tomcat used Alcad black base for the nose and canopy more
  12. last week got the wingnut wings AMC DH.2 and Sopwith triplane and just bought the Gotha hope to receive that in 2 weeks slowly getting on ordering all the wingnut kits just now on 7 kits And bought the Revell Bf109 G-10 Erla and Bf109 G-6 well maybe some mixed reactions but they are cheap and I can rivet them for that money my self. Now wanted the UHU from ZM but have to wait maybe after there flying wing if it is not to expansive.
  13. Hi now almost done hehe well the main body is ready now need to do the landing gear doors and the fuel tanks and more little stuff. Hope to start the red tail and fins they will make it come to live even more. the little dirt streaks I do with watercolourpencils but that later. cant wait to see that shiny black nose on it. Oh I made a little airbrush video post it how I airbrush this saterday. Have fun johan bos
  14. Hello I have been a bit distracted for 4 days visit fantastic lisbon and Cascais love the country and it people. But back in holland I needed to work long hours and not much time to work on the tomcat but thursday I found a great airmail padded bag on my doorstep all the way from Australia From Ken Stetzenko a member from LSP I now send the other Figther town decals to him. here a little progress on the horizontal tail plane and removed the tape of the top airbrake. Now move to the front cockpit area hope to spend a Sunday on airbrushing. Have fun Johan bos
  15. Hi Bevan Brooks I use Vallejo Model Air made a thin layer of a dark Grey color just to have a base now the paint will not form drops if I stay on one spot to long. I thin them with just a bit more some colors can use more then other colors the White and Light Greys need more Thinning. Now for like Black and high contrast colors when I do small patches I use clear matt varnish so I can build up the layer and not in danger it will run because the paint is to thin. Now for White you need to stir the paint constantly if you thin it the bigger particles will sink faster and you notice the paint will get more granular I have a cloth in the other hand to blow air back in to the airbrush cup so it keeps it a live. And for the dry tip cleaning the only thing I hate about the water base paint. Johan bos
  16. Hi more Progress Now need to do the horizontal stabilizers and the sides. Need to at some oil streaks these I will make after a layer of high gloss varnish so I dont have to worry about making mistakes. . . . Have Fun Johan Bos
  17. Hi Thanks Wayne I done my first set up of paint on the right wing need two colors more but this is a start. Ok it's going to be a VF-31 01 the Red tail only need to find any one who wants to trade the Figther town Decals Crim Reapers for the tomcatters F-14D. So if not I need to see if I can duplicated the black tomcat and print it. . . . Have fun Johan Bos
  18. Hi Dave yes preparing to the sort of sets options that can be done with it let you know when I have more on that it will be in January Did work on the cockpit so I can close it for painting the top. He gets a High gloss black nose maybe some of you now know the type I am going to make must say I forgot promise to get photo's and hope to trade Figthertone decals (Grim Reapers) for the one I need hehe but about that tomorrow. The weathering can start now with this base colors on. . . . Have fun Johan bos
  19. Hi now finally the base color on the underside I did needed to paint the wing edge and the Red air brake chambers. And tape them easier than I have done some time ago lol. Just love the so much beter intake's they realy have the lines of the real one As you can see the model holder is in use and even with out a steel plate to give it more strenght to hold it with out falling over. I can turn the plane around on it's back with out any problems. . . . . . . Have fun Johan Bos
  20. Hi I did a bit of work on the great resin tires from True Details. It needs some careful cleaning painted the inside rim black not able to get there later with paint the nose wheel I painted silver but the main legs still need to be done just alcad black base on them now. And last but not least The model base I desigend to hold any model in size or shape. I first use a cheap copy of the magnet arm to test if it works now I bought a Noga magnetic standard and it can hold the models with ease. When they get top heavy I use a paint paint can or a metal plate. It can hold up the Trumpeter 1 1/6 King tiger with axel support frame. and the now heavy of all the resin Tomcat great for getting all the angles to work on it and if needed I take it out of it frame and place it back in seconds. Store it fast no more looking for a safe spot to lie down your model I just pick up the standard and place it on the shelf. And when working on a WW1 plane the rigging is just fantastic under any angle I can now tie the threads. It is all stainless steal and aluminum cleaning it from paint or other dirt will be easy. More samples how to use and potential of this frame later this week. in the end of Januari I hope to get the sets ready for sale. Have fun Johan Bos
  21. Hi I get to the final details asking the most attention are the fuel tanks the hard points are on the right spot and I think the dimension of the tanks are good only when I put the main landing gear leg in place it touche the tank. now after looking at many photo's the legs are under some degree from the tanks so I have tried this now still dry fit and it looks more like the photo's I have. The book I use is from Danny Coremans Uncovering the Grumman F-14 A/B/D Tomcat Oh when all resin is in place It tends to be a tail sitter now I did not glue the burn cans in place so I will glue a bolt in the middle of the aiframe later. I added more details on the root of the vertical tail the rubber funny the tubbing I have is red to and well did fill a panel line here ad ther with evergreen later to be cut and sanded. If there are any thing not clear just ask me to explain. . . . . Have fun Johan Bos
  22. Hi I need a bit of help on my trump tomcat One question the wheels of the trumpeter tomcat are they accurate becose I think it stands a bit high now with the feul tanks under it. Maybe it is the leg it self I hope to post photo's later this week made great progress. Have fun Johan bos
