It’s just so hard to justify spending $150 on AM for a $50 kit but if it’s the best way to achieve the accuracy you are looking for, then it’s the right move. I follow a few large scale ship sites and the work is spellbinding. It’s not unusual to spend $150 - $1000 on upgrade PE and resin sets, especially in 1/200 scaleI. I’ve been closely following the HSM Hood build in 1/200 scale on the Model Shed vlog and the work ... beyond first class. The Pontos Upgrade set ($1000 I think) takes the build to a museum level. I have the 1/200th Trumpeter Titanic and there’s an incredible detail set out of Korea that’s over $300. I paid $400 for the kit itself! …….and yes, your cockpit looks great. I think I'll finally invest in a drill press so that I can put the metal braces into the tube more securely than a simple glue joint. Seem like you can't buy Germans that haven't won the Iron Cross. All three pilots in the ICM set have it. You're saying: "Wait, I thought his plane had MG 151 tubs under the wings??" Well... that's what I thought. But this picture just came up last week causing me to spend yet more on this build. (it also caused me to make his propeller spinner a single color: black) So... I'll have to make adjustments. The rocket set is by PM Profimodeller and is actually a four tube set for larger aircraft like 110, 210, or 410. It seems an never ending endeavor but you have it so nicely under control. Even the figures need work to be historically correct for your build; talk about accuracy. Never saw the Wurfgranaten-Set with real metal parts. I only have a set for the Jagdgruppe 50 109s from AIMS. It even includes a template for correct assembly of the Ofenrohre to the wings. With the pilot it’s the same like with your Panzerkommandant: nobody will notice ! Even without the template it should be no problem for you to attach them to the wing. Do you need a drawing of the template? I have only a few pictures of Graf's aircraft which I borrowed from FalkeEins website. The above photo shows something over the windshield looking like a blister on the glass. I believe that it is a detail from the building behind the aircraft. In this second photo, I see nothing that indicates the blister. Honestly... There are a handful of reasons as I pilot that I wouldn't want something distorting my vision upwards. And I can't think of one reason for the blister to be there. I think it's just wishful thinking on the part of the designer of the AM. I took the calipers to my thumb and came up with 25MM. Divided by 32 gives you a .78MM dimension. This is funny... I have .9MM tube and .7MM tube. It is always the way. GazzaS Posted July 11, 2021 Author Share Posted July 11, 2021 Not much time for modelling this weekend. Though I am happy to have the stash room sorted. I removed all of the pouring blocks and trimmed the resin parts. Then I decided it might be prudent to dry fit all of the parts, excluding the heat shields and exhaust stubs. Hopefully you can make out the parts despite the bits of blue tape. The fit seems ok so far. Finally I glued the spar to the cockpit tub.
