Administrators JeroenPeters Posted February 20 Author Administrators Posted February 20 Almost happy. Not quite. Will print from a different angle. 7
Bogus Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Been away for a while, so great to see the progress! As an owner of several (admittedly slightly more modern) Nortons myself, I feel a right scoundrel by pointing out that the bike has been printed as a mirror image. The primary drive case should be on the left, and the timing case on the right. Likewise the front brake drum is on the left. Unless your photos are reversed? I hope this doesn't detract from the fantastic work you're achieving - please keep it coming! 4

Thnx! I’ll flip it back and do some more prints. 4
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted March 8 Author Administrators Posted March 8 Sooo, painting a few gun camera’s. Once two of them Re done, i’ll pick the best one and use that. Also printed a few new access hatches that are amazingly thin and nicer than the first. 9
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted March 9 Author Administrators Posted March 9 Made the aileron trim tabs. Engraved the ailerons. Ready for installation. 9

Administrators JeroenPeters Posted March 15 Author Administrators Posted March 15 Printed even more Nortons after a lot of adjustments. The whirlwind is almost ready for paint! 9 1
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted March 18 Author Administrators Posted March 18 Trying to keep this build up to speed. finally happy with the Norton. So prepping those for paint, but i need to check it thoroughly for parts of printing supports. Then: reprinted the slats and radiator slats since the new printer prints them smoother. Also 3d drew and printed the radio access hatch. This 3d printing makes it all a breeze! And it feels like cheating. 9 1

belugawhaleman Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Amazing detail on the motorcycle! Looks very delicately fragile! I can't wait to see it painted! 2
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted March 19 Author Administrators Posted March 19 Also prepping the Brough Superior for printing. 6
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted March 23 Author Administrators Posted March 23 Reprinted the slats in different resin. This one gives more detail and is slightly more flexible. Painting stage is not far off. 6
HubertB Posted March 23 Posted March 23 Funny you went for more flexible resin for the slats. I went the opposite fir the slats of my Cutlass, with a rigid resin. The reason is that the ones I printed a few weeks ago warped badly and took a banana shape 🙁 … Hopefully my slats will stay straight, as I will be gluing them shortly. Looking forward to see the painting start. Hubert 4
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted March 26 Author Administrators Posted March 26 New slats primed and polished. Final check and prep before paint! 8
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted March 28 Author Administrators Posted March 28 The first paint is on. This took me the better part of an hour. This is because i dilute the paint very much and need many passes for good coverage. 10
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted March 29 Author Administrators Posted March 29 Also printed this RAF accumulator trolley. IMG_1236.mov 8
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted March 30 Author Administrators Posted March 30 Another long session of airbrushing. Almost done with the marbling. 11
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted April 2 Author Administrators Posted April 2 Realized i have 3 brands of medium sea gray in my supply. Went for the mr hobby colour since it never lets me down. I might use some variations here and there. 6
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted April 3 Author Administrators Posted April 3 Fresh of the printer! 5mm acrylic with print. I will screw this on top of the base. 6
