BlrwestSiR
Here's one that's been kicking around for a bit. Moebius Models did a number of kits from the reboot BSG and then expanded that to the original series. Unfortunately Universal decided not to renew their license so the kits are now OOP. They're a bit simple but overall decent kits. Who left their Panzer tracks on my model?! A quick fit of some of the major components. Mr Color paint bottle for size comparison. This should be a nice time filler while waiting on the Kai Eagle filler to dry.
BlrwestSiR
More test fitting of the parts. Overall, things look to be good. A couple parts are slightly warped but should hold in place with the other parts added on top. Definitely a twin engine.

DocRob
Nice little discus thingy, Carl. Liked the movies as a kid, even though, they were not top notch, they possessed a likely unintentional humor. Cheers Rob 6
Landlubber Mike
I loved the show as a kid. Looking forward to seeing this come alive! I watched the trailer you posted, and was struck by how great the ships looked back then. Compared to the CGI today, the show certainly held it's own, if not, might even look better. 3
Peterpools
I remember the original TV and watching it with my son. I'm kind of old these days and happy to report, still getting older.
BlrwestSiR
I finally got a bit done. I sprayed a coat of primer/pre-shading on the major parts. I used Tamiya Sea Blue since I seemed to have a couple extra bottles of it and it's going to be grey over top. I also ordered some LED lights for the build. They're on their way so hopefully won't be too long a wait.

Don´t waste your Sea Blue, you´ll need it, if you ever want to build a night bomber AEG, like me. It´s the base color and works well with the decals. Can´t wait to see this thing drop into the atmosphere. Cheers Rob 4

This is all paint that I already have one on the paint racks. I had to make a list so I knew what was in there.
BlrwestSiR
With the base coat dry, I started on the colour coat. I'm using XF-19 Sky Grey for this. I figured I'd get some practice on my German squiggle camo at the same time. With the other side done. The modulation is there so I guess it worked. Onto the lower centre fuselage.

Peterpools
Carl Nice progress and you sure will be having a lot of practice with the squiggle pre-shading. Now I know why at times there is a paint shortage. 3
BlrwestSiR
Thanks Peter! It's definitely giving me lots of practice.
BlrwestSiR
Tonight I worked on one of the outer wing sections. More squiggles and then the colour coat over top. I also masked off and painted a couple panels in a different shade of grey to help further break things up.
Peterpools
Carl Pre-shading and weathering is looking so mightly good. 2
telepatu
Really nice! I've always wondered why do they bother with camouflage on the spaceships in the TV shows and movies? Looks nice and menacing, sure. But for what is purpose? I assume visual sighting is not the top method of detecting ships in space many, many, many kilometers away with very very fast ships. But on the other hand, it looks cool so yeah! Bring it on. 4
BlrwestSiR
Got the paint on the bottom done. This took about half a bottle of Tamiya XF-19. The finish is extremely flat so I may give it a semi-gloss or satin clear when I'm done.
Peterpools
Carl Nice progress for sure and paint these days, just doesn't seem to go as far as it use to 1
BlrwestSiR
Time to try my hand at lighting a model. I'm keeping the lighting simple. First up are the lights just below the cockpit. The plan is to drill out and mount them to the outer pair of tubes/protuberances on this panel. It turns out that the tubes were slightly smaller than the LEDs I'm using so Plan B was cut them off and replace them with styrene tubing. This way I can mount the LED from behind and they shine through. Both now done. Next up was drilling holes in the cockpit coaming for the wires to pass through. The wing lights are up next.
BlrwestSiR
Okay, I was really not happy with the colour I had painted the fuselage. So I grabbed something different and started over. This time I went with Light Ghost Grey. For the engine louvers, I wanted to keep the undersides black so I put the louvers in place to act as a mask. I then found Fur in my seat. The canopy is now black as well.
Peterpools
Carl Nice start of the LED lighting and the perfect solution to the fit issue - results look spot on. Sometimes it hard to realize the chosen paint color was not good and start over but the new choice seems to work well. Nice work on the louvers. 1
BlrwestSiR
Thanks Peter! The coaming lights were the hardest to sort out. The rest are going to be much easier to install.
BlrwestSiR
I did some more paint work last night which was basically post shading the model. I'm masking off the odd panel and then spraying a slightly darker grey to break things up.
