Peterpools Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 John Looking good, nice work on the front office. 2
JohnB Posted October 19, 2024 Author Posted October 19, 2024 Adding the instrument panels was a tedious process, especially the top panel. Thanks to strip styrene and CA everything is installed. I just hope they STAY there.🤪 2
JohnB Posted October 20, 2024 Author Posted October 20, 2024 Finally got the instrument panels and windscreen attached. Attaching the wings is next. Not what I'd call perfect fit!!!🙄 7 2
Spitfire Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 You are doing a fine job there John, keep up the good work. Cheers Dennis 5

Peterpools Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 John Nice progress and I'm right with Kev. Not sure if taping the wingtips to each other will both remove the wing fillet gap and increase the dihedral which seems to be too shallow or just strip plastic is the remedy. I guess it all depends how the dihedral actually looks to you, as I'm only guessing from the overhead photo. In any case, my money is riding on you to work right though the issue at hand. 3

I'll go see how well my "adjustments" have helped and post a couple more pics. 🙄 3
JohnB Posted October 21, 2024 Author Posted October 21, 2024 I think the elastic helped with the dihedral. Next I'll trim the strips I put in and do some puttying. 9
Martinnfb Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 Looking good John. Are you using Hasegawa cowl ring? 2
JohnB Posted October 21, 2024 Author Posted October 21, 2024 After trimming the strip plastic I decided to try to get a bit more dihedral. I'll let it sit for a while then go back and see how it looks now. No Peter, the cowl ring is from the kit. 5 1
JohnB Posted October 21, 2024 Author Posted October 21, 2024 Puttied up and waiting for sanding out. 6

FullArmor Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 This somehow reminds me when i bought the cheapest 1/16 scale tank kit and tried to modify it to decent shape😅 1

JohnB Posted October 21, 2024 Author Posted October 21, 2024 Got the sanding and priming done. Not anywhere near perfect but it'll have to do. 6
Peterpools Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 John Nice work on the wings, fillet seams and getting the dihedral to look good. Not hard to believe you have the Old Revell FW 190 ready for the paint shop. 1

If I'd known it would likely still be on the shelf! LOL It appears at this point it will turn out okay but I'm not counting my chickens just yet! 3
Peterpools Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 John You are taming the beast and looking good. 2
