Hasegawa JU-87G next up

Recommended Posts

This one's been in my stash for a good while so I guess it's time to build it. I have some good after market exhaust hiders and some wide prop blades that are needed for this particular a/c. I'll use some Eaglecal decals for markings. Makes a BIG model!

That is one plane I have not built in decades John and have been looking at different manufactures if I had to pick it be Hase or Borders.:hsmack:

I'm only familiar with the Hasegawa kits but they are really nice kits. Great detail and fit.

The cockpit looks great John. What clear were you using on the instrument faces?

Thanks Carl. I used Alclad Clear Coat. Works well but frequently requires several applications.

Nice!  I’ve got one sitting in the stash with a lot of AM I’m wanting to get to.  Watching with much interest.  A tip I picked up on the gauge faces is to use UV activated glue.  Epoxy works too, but sometimes yellows over time.  My wife just bought some casting resin to make some Christmas ornaments.  I might commandeer a couple ounces for my bench.  😁

That sounds like a good idea Scott. Let us know how well it works out.

Nice fix on the wing gap. At least it's on the underside so not as visible.

I've used Bondic UV gel for instrument glass. I apply with a toothpick and then a UV flashlight to harden it.

There's a Japanese brand Gaianotes that does one too that's even nicer but it can be hard to find.

Thanks and thanks for the tip.
