Kriss Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Another model on the workshop this time it is a Fairey Gannet AEW.3 in 1:72 scale from the company ‘Sword’. In the box, in addition to the frames, we have resin parts, a sheet of film and a mask, that is the model with extras. The decal sheet includes markings for two machines, the model to be built will be in box camouflage with HMS ‘Ark Royal’. 5
Kriss Posted January 29 Author Posted January 29 Cabin interior pre-assembled and prepared for painting. 3
KevinM Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Looking good Kriss but.. but.. but she's not a very attractive girl 1 1
Kriss Posted January 30 Author Posted January 30 It's not my interest but I received a Gannet as a gift and I need to make one, so I'm building it straight out of the box. But yes I'm steaming and I will say it looks beautiful, such a beauty it will be. 2
Kriss Posted January 30 Author Posted January 30 Only one more door remains to be cut out and the hull can be painted and closed. 3
KevinM Posted January 30 Posted January 30 I guess Kriss the pieces there are what will be seen through the open doors? If so good ideal to open both and let the light flood the area . 1
Kriss Posted January 30 Author Posted January 30 Yes there are resin doors in the kit and you just need to cut holes in the fuselage for them. And it will all be nicely visible. We'll see when the model is finished and from that it will be visible. I'm struggling on because there are more waiting in the queue. 2

Kriss Posted February 1 Author Posted February 1 The interior of the cockpit is ready. The cabin will be enclosed. 2
Kriss Posted February 3 Author Posted February 3 The operators' cabin prepared to be enclosed in the fuselage but the door will be open so something will be visible. 2
Kriss Posted February 7 Author Posted February 7 Preliminarily the Gannet already looks like this at my place, I am now left with the fun of painting and the rest of the parts. I had to use a few drops of putty and the rest fitted perfectly, the geometry captured with LEGO bricks. 2
Kriss Posted February 9 Author Posted February 9 I've done a little bit of fine detail preparation. I am now wondering how to make the stripes on the tanks so that they come out even and straight. I need to find a simple patent for this. 2
Kriss Posted February 15 Author Posted February 15 And the fine detailing done and painted. And I made the stripes on the tanks by applying yellow and taping the whole thing, then I made a cube out of LEGO blocks with a hole for the tank and slid it out to the right length and made an incision with a scalpel blade alone. 2
