One of the guys thinks they attached the Sheetrock directly to the roof rafters. He doesn’t think it has a truss system with space above. They’re going to return with an infrared camera to look for hot spots to see of any insulation was packed between the joists. Wait till you get a fire in one of those damn cathedral ceilings, and you have to pull every bit of the drywall down to get it all out because there's no attic..... Makes for dang miserable New Year's Eve for everyone concerned. 1

Backs just too ganked up to be hauling around a live 12’ tree anymore. 1 2
ScottsGT Posted March 18 Author Posted March 18 Been away from the bench for a while traveling to see our daughter. Got back to it this morning. Did some touch ups on the camo where I mis-masked and had primer edges showing. this is right after hosing it down with leveling thinner to blend in the touch ups. And my new squirrel (distraction)…. This thing is light years away from when I was flying back in 1999. It’s a damned computer now. 5

BlrwestSiR Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Hubert, with enough thrust, anything can be made to fly. Just got to make sure Scott's throwing arm is up to it. On a separate note, have you seen the RC 777 this guy built? That's large scale... 1 1
ScottsGT Posted March 19 Author Posted March 19 Actor/Director/Producer Tyler Perry is into the big jets as well. He owns a huge hanger in Atlanta GA that’s on his “compound” where his mansion is. He has a C-17 about the same size as the 777 in the video. 3

Scott, this is the same guy that did the C-17 for Tyler Perry. 2
ScottsGT Posted 16 hours ago Author Posted 16 hours ago It’s been a minute! But I’m back on the P-40 this morning. Wife’s had me busy around the house, yard has been calling and trips were made! Starting the fun. 4
ScottsGT Posted 14 hours ago Author Posted 14 hours ago I need a good stiff Scotch after that. And now off to the other side. Ugh…. 6

KUROK Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Looking good! And I can sympathize on doing any sharkmouth decals. I have told myself if I ever do another sharkmouth that I'll be better off painting/masking than trying to get a decal on. Good luck and enjoy and well-earned Scotch. 2
ScottsGT Posted 10 hours ago Author Posted 10 hours ago Other side went down just as good! Mr. Mark Softer is the schiznit for these decals. Micro Set just didn’t do the trick. Now my only complaint is that the decal at the bottom is way too short to meet up in the middle. I’m going to have to get all artistic with my detail brush. 4

Martinnfb Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Yeah, alcoholism has no mercy Looking good Scotty, can't wait for the finish. Cheers M. 1
BlrwestSiR Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Ohe nasty overbite there Scott. Definitely paint then scotch. Don't want you mixing up which bottle the brush goes into. 2
ScottsGT Posted 5 hours ago Author Posted 5 hours ago Carl, back in my bodyshop days we kept a small container of lacquer thinner on our bench to wet a shop rag and wipe down our Bondo spreaders. I made the mistake of using a Mountain Dew bottle for my thinner bottle. This was back in the day of glass 16 oz. Soda bottles. One day I was drinking a Mt. Dew and not paying attention as I was reaching for it. Did you know lacquer thinner tastes like the cheap Johnnie Walker red label? I immediately removed the thin styrofoam labels they put on glass soda bottles. 2
BlrwestSiR Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I'm surprised the lacquer thinner didn't melt the Styrofoam label. I didn't know what lacquer thinner tasted like but I do know white glue (school glue) tastes the way it smells. Foam labels on glass bottles, that's really taking me back. Did you ever have the tall, sorta thin glass pop bottles from around the early to mid '70s? They were I think 1 litre bottles and were discontinued when it was discovered the glass walls were too thin and they could explode if shaken. 1
ScottsGT Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago Nothing like that I can remember. But I do miss my sodas in glass bottles. I recently bought some Mexican Cokes in glass bottles and made with real cane sugar. Talk about flashbacks! 1
