colt6
now I come to the point to glue the fuselage together and I had so much fun to glue all the resin parts at the right position. after a first coat, I saw that I need more training in sanding!!!!! and the first colors But I think the funny part will come, when I used for the first time the Bare-Metal foil, to cover the front part. Administrators JeroenPeters Posted May 31, 2014 Administrators Share Posted May 31, 2014 love this kit, this build and the these aftermarket sets. Built it myself not too long ago. Great work. Following this..

RalphSarc
Wow looking good Arno. Is the foil you're using to make the panels wine bottle? Makes me want to buy another Revell kit off eBay for $19.95 US!
RalphSarc
Before joining this forum and just after my heart attack in August of 2013 I built a Revell Me162 using the skills I possessed at the time. I used canned spray paint and did the camouflage spots by hand with a brush using two shades of testers paint, lol!! Still pretty proud of my effort but after seeing your efforts I think I'd enjoy revisiting a new Revell Me162 build this winter :-) Oh by the way wheels up for hanging in the basement!
colt6
And so comes panel for panel. After that I will look for a way to make them more dull
colt6
And I learned that overlapping is not an good idea, you will see it. From panel line to panel line works for me the best.

colt6
Arno is that foil has adhesive on it? Ralph Yes, this is just the Bare-Metal Foil
colt6
I tried to give the alu a brushed look We will see how it looks with a varnish coat over it
colt6
I try to make the putty stripes on the alu, do that look good?

RalphSarc
Wow looking good my friend!! I'm watching your build with great interest as I just ordered a new Revell kit as a winter project. I also got a screaming deal on a 1994 Revell 1/32 Scale US Navy A-1 Skyraider Kit for $29.95!!! No instructions or decals but parts still sealed in their plastic. If you know anyone who might have instruction I'd be happy to pay for them. I contacted Revell customer service so I'll see what they say. See you on Skype soon! Ralph.
efrick
Hi Arno! The work you are doing with the foil is just stellar. I have only used it on landing gear but may have to go for application on something larger after seeing the effect that you have achieved. Following with interest! colt6
After seeing Ralph's fantastic Spitfire Mk.VIII, I have also to try his highlighted paint. But hey, it isn't easy!!!!!!
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted June 8, 2014 Administrators Share Posted June 8, 2014 Looks good to me! These wings were made of wood, so color was pretty even. Nice going!

colt6
Oh no..... game over, something, maybe the terpentine killed the plastic.....
One-Oh-Four
Waaaaat???? That shouldn't be possible, unless you immerse the plastic in turpentine for a prolonged time... Please show some pics of the "wounds"...
colt6
First the varnish goes then the color and now the plastic. What a frustrating end.
kahunaminor
Oh no! What an absolute shame. What brand of oil paint/turpentine did you use? The application of oil does look a bit thick but otherwise? Can you save it? Regards, Kent
RalphSarc
OMG!!! That's a shame. I'd Skype you but it's much to late your time. Can that be fixed?? I dearly hope so as you had the makings of a stellar kit. Very sad that happened :-(
