belugawhaleman Posted October 20 Posted October 20 Yes, the kit came out in 2013 and does include many new parts despite being based on their T-55A kit. I noticed that the upper hull and turret are new and ,of course, all the Israeli mods. I didn't know that the main gun was replaced with the 105mm from the M48/M60 tanks. These tanks have an interesting history . It made fun reading. Also, there were various colors used on these depending on the time period. The instructions state that the markings are for an 1980's era tank. I ordered some Mr. Color sand gray 2 1981 (Golan) paint from the Brothers Sprue, and Friuls already. I would like to see how that miniart kit buils up😀 2
BlrwestSiR Posted October 28 Posted October 28 So Blade Runner was set in 2019. They had flying cars in the film. We're 2025 now and no flying cars .. Guess I'll have to settle for this then. It still has to be one of the coolest vehicles to ever appear on film. 3

I wouldn´t mind a WIP, Carl. Cheers Rob 2 1
BlrwestSiR Posted October 28 Posted October 28 Rob, the kit is not bad. The overall shape is good as is the fit. There are a couple odd errors in it which are not too difficult to fix. Paragrafix makes a nice PE set for it that corrects much of it. There's a Japanese company that made resin figures of Gaff and Decker to seat inside it but they're not the easiest to find. I'll definitely do a WIP when I get going on it. Carl 2 1
belugawhaleman Posted October 31 Posted October 31 Some recent finds........ First from Tamiya; Their Dewoitine D 520 in 1/48 scale (61048). I've been looking for this one for some time😀 Finally found this on EBAY....and it wasn't listed for a stupid price!!! The kit is perfect, all bags sealed (stapled). Decals look good. Very pleased. Next...... Also from Tamiya, It's their M1046 HUMVEE TOW MISSILE CARRIER in 1/35 (35267). OOP, hard to find, and usually ridiculously priced, I found this thing at a good price and it's like new😀 Last.... Yet another Tamiya offering; this was a gift from a family member...... I'ts Tamiya's Ki-61-Id Hien & 4x4 Kurogane. (25203) in 1/48.😀 Looks like a great kit. One question however.... Was the Type-95 Kurogane Designed with cuteness in mind? I mean, just look at the thing!! Anyway, been trying to find "bucket list" tamiya kits for some time😀 Type-95 Kurogane............cute? And yes, I feel uncomfortable using that word concerning a military vehicle......but just look at the thing! 5
Martinnfb Posted October 31 Posted October 31 Been looking for that Dewoitine for a while. Nice find Paul. 1 1

belugawhaleman Posted November 8 Posted November 8 A pair of kits by Tamiya one of which is not readily found...............😀!!!! Yes, I really found one!!!. From Tamiya, its their Iraqi Tank T-55 "Enigma" (35324) .I've built two Tamiya T-55 before...fun builds. Next, Tamiya's , Mig 15 bis (61043). This is a 1996 release and is still said to be a good build. This was still sealed, but I opened it to put the masks (Eduard) in the box....looks good. I would like to do it up in camouflage..... Perhaps something Cuban, if I can find the decals..otherwise something unusual. The Enigma T-55 is good.....all parts still sealed (stapled) in their bags and contents looking new. The Tamiya Enigma is offered on EBAY at sometimes ridiculous prices, and I know that Miniart (Manypart) has a new mold. But this is the kit I wanted. I'm glad to say I did not pay a obscene amount for this thing. I've found that if you find a seller that does not usually sell models you can get things at a better price. I have another kit from Tamiya coming....perhaps Monday, that I really have been looking for forever, but usually appears in a boxing I don't want.....found the one I wanted...Normal USAF markings. The Tamiya Mig 15 bis. 5
BlrwestSiR Posted November 9 Posted November 9 Picked up a couple kits recently. Actually, I bought them back in August for pick up from my LHS but only made it there last week. First up was an oldie. Not sure it's a goodie but it's the only game in town. Pre- WWII subjects are a rare one for me so we'll see how this ends up. I recently got an F2G Super Corsair conversion kit so when a Tamiya Corsair came up for a great price I knew I'd found my base kit. 5

Paul regarding the t-55 line , did you try HobbyBoss? impressive a cheap kit https://www.ebay.ca/itm/256200313092?_skw=1%2F35+hobbyboss+ntype+59&itmmeta=01K9N8VTSZV646TC22B42J2CKT&hash=item3ba6ba8904:g:yKAAAOSwJXpk7fyh&itmprp=enc%3AAQAKAAAA0FkggFvd1GGDu0w3yXCmi1f7IxGl%2FgYEUF0JvQ%2FZoXuJpB2Bkl6kDjJSwOtKt6S5lcJ2H%2FJNhEuhmvs311l3wBXY7R5QXgq7JL2lOxa0B3mA4Ulxvv516OCfpI7hTgBA7ne8l1ku4W2%2B7h9Ya29648dfblY0H89mf9tGHT1zcqPMZFg1k9Fenv4Qvr1%2BO4pIl2BrM7hBWYmhHyEBnq0oqBdgqBO1HO2gBnbJq2lc8cyjIwGBqraB%2BgNpvZwPKl4E%2Fmav0YYaYtmqYDuQEGBEk6s%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR4Ku76jNZg 1 1
belugawhaleman Posted November 9 Posted November 9 No, but I did click on that exact same listing and seller while browsing on EBAY .....strange🤔 .

It was my first go at a dio, if I remember it correctly. I never noticed, that it is a valuable kit. 5

Since there's no decal markings in the kit I guess I'll have to make an effort to weather this thing to make it not look so plain. I have some friul tracks on the way......With the Tiran, that's two sets of Friul tracks for the T-55 I've ordered in as many weeks...but they're worth It in this Case. A long while back I ordered a set of Eduard PE screens for the Enigma by mistake.....Now I can use them! Yes, In some cases people are trying to get stupid money for these things...I paid about the same as a new 1/35 kit...about the same as a Dragon kit in 1/35 (I will Never buy a Dragon kit) 2

Yup, it´s the Diopark Benz, I bought it directly, when it came out and started the dio. I owned one of these for a while and loved it, as I love old Mercs generally. Actually, there seems to be one available from Plastic Model Republic. Can´t tell, if they are reliable, but ordered an oop F1 kit Saturday from them. I added Friuls for mine along with a very extensive Voyager PE set, a metal barrel, a resin set for the extra armor, which looked less uniform and resin wheels, partly with burned off rubber parts. Cheers Rob 3
DocRob Posted November 12 Posted November 12 Yeah, I know, I ranted more than a bit about the Ebbro Lotus Type 49c, I recently finished. On the other hand, parts of the kit were great and Ebbro´s subjects are rarely represented as kits. I couldn´t resist buying their Lotus Type 91 and added a sheet of TBDecals with JPS branding, because they were no part of the kit. It´s crazy, how these brands are banned from decal sheets, but my last build, a very recent Revell of Germany McLaren MP4/25 sported Johnny Walker branding directly on the kits decal sheet. Apart from that, it will be an oob build, because the engine is completely covered. Cheers Rob 5

Cheers Rob Yes, it was very nicely done. I have an Aber Barrel ....somewhere. I looked at an PE set for it, Aber, I think, but the instructions looked a little too fiddly for my aging, shaking hands, to accomplish. What I would like, is a fuel line set for the side tanks.....but always out of stock or located overseas.so, I'll try to do some light weathering.... I mean, I don't think these things were really used much. I'll try to make parts look a bit rusty, chipped, and dirty. No fake mud however....I hate fake mud if poorly done! 1

denders Posted Sunday at 02:59 AM Posted Sunday at 02:59 AM I was at the IPMS Middle Tennessee show today. Didn't buy too much. The Spitfire kit includes a bunch of Barracuda AM for it and an Eduard 'Look' instrument panel and seat belts. The metal landing gear appears to be for the Trumpeter A-10. I'll have to get the kit down and check it out. 5
belugawhaleman Posted Monday at 09:18 PM Posted Monday at 09:18 PM Got this today😀 Yes, another Tamiya kit, OOP and not the easiest kit to find......Usually found in Thunderbirds markings. It's Tamiya's Republic F-84G THUNDERJET (61060) in 1/48 . You see this boxing with standard USAF markings less often. I was glad to find it. 3
belugawhaleman Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Added an upgrade to my Iwata Hi-Line HP-BH today....... A new trigger/lever .......Usually found on Iwata's Custom Micron series Iwata part I-545-4. This is wider, square-shaped, with larger surface area than the old one. Very comfortable. 1

You wouldn't believe the trouble I had getting this thing!!!!! Sent from Chicago to Beach Park Illinois, (43 miles) It took a week for UPS to send it. multiple rescheduling of delivery dates (5). On Monday I watched tracking all day, only to have the driver say "It's not on the truck". On the phone with them multiple times. Major headaches.
