PAnderson Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Another I did a while back. Tamiya's A6M2b Zero. As far as a quality build goes, this kit was a foretelling of things to come. I hope you like her. The antenna got broke off during my move to Jersey. 1
rkranias Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 what an epic kit. kudos on the build. and if I haven't said earlier...good to see you here!
Jeroenveen1 Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 I have on in the stash… yours makes me want to get it out and start building! Great job!
NOVAModeler Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 I also want to get this kit now that I know what a joy Tamiya 1:32 kits is. Really love the pre-shading on yours. Call Tamiya and have them ship you a free antenna. They're very helpful over in the Tamiya USA office.
GUY5Y Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Thumps head on table. I have so much to learn............have mastered breaking spikey bits though.
Members Mikester Posted March 17, 2013 Members Posted March 17, 2013 Very nice, really like the subtle weathering.
PAnderson Posted March 17, 2013 Author Posted March 17, 2013 Thanks everyone. Actually, I should have learned from this one but obviously didn't. This was done in 2008 and as my more recent work shows, I am still nervous about weathering. Figure that one out, LOL. This was NOT pre-shaded. This was a post paint job wash with Burnt Sienna diluted with 90% thinner over a clear spray. Then it was matte coated. Paul 1
coolboxx Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 what a great job and a pilot too where is the saki
Daywalker Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Beautiful Zero, like this one a lot! A little note about Zero antennas- a lot of them were removed as the radios were often removed to save weight. Typically, they just cut them off flush with the canopy. If you want, you could do the same and call it intentional!
Guest styrenedemon Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Whoa. Nice looking Zero. I think the weathering is really nice too. I'm going to have to tackle one of these sometime.
Grant Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 I love this kit, always wanted it but haven't managed to get my hands on one yet (business comes first). What a superb job Paul, I love it.
