Administrators JeroenPeters Posted May 10, 2015 Author Administrators Posted May 10, 2015 Jesus! I hate you!!! Thats why you love me.
Administrators Fran Posted May 12, 2015 Administrators Posted May 12, 2015 Nice! very nice!!! Great work JP!!
Marcel du Long Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Looking good Jeroen! Love the subtle weathering. Well done. The little silver scratches on the radio in the back are feeling a bit off but since they are covered by the fuselage don't bother cause no one will see eventually. Except for me cause I know.... Marcel.

Marcel du Long Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Perhaps nitpicking but you can add a little light colored pinwash to the radio elements in the back. This will enhance the dark details you've got there. Just a thought. Marcel
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted May 14, 2015 Author Administrators Posted May 14, 2015 Thnx Marcel, The fuselage is closed and the radio sits pretty deep in the rear fuselage, making only the fronts of the radio's visible. In the meanwhile i finished building the Bristol Mercury engine:
Administrators James H Posted May 14, 2015 Administrators Posted May 14, 2015 This is so cool. How did you find the fuselage lined up? No steps? Can't wait to see the PZL they release.
JonathanReed Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 That is looking really good Jeroen! Looking forward to seeing it all together!
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted May 17, 2015 Author Administrators Posted May 17, 2015 Ok. Meeting some resistance. The engine is slightly too big in diameter for the cowling. So I sanded away the connection rim inside the cowling and sanded the entire cowling way thinner all around. And now it fits! What you see here are 5 parts: And added the second wing too: So far it's a pretty smooth ride! Cheers, Jeroen 2
Administrators James H Posted May 17, 2015 Administrators Posted May 17, 2015 That looks great. Real unusual that Silverwings would make a booboo like that with the engine and cowl. I reckon this will be done in a week.

I reckon this will be done in a week. It reminds me of the Taurus engine i tried to fit in the WnW cowling of the Fokker E.III. It's an easy fix. Just a little work to make it look ok. 1
Wouter Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 I noticed that too Jeroen. Good to see you've found the solution.
benjaminsummerfield Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 The engine is straight out of the Gladiator kit so that might explain it. Look good sugar daddy 1
tomv1987 Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Awesome work so far! That cockpit looks terrific! Tom
Wingco57 Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Looking good, the wings look a bit short chordwise. Need filled? Cees

Pepper-Mint Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Hello J. There's something special between you and this kit. I can feel it. I see it. Cheers, Laurent. 1
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted May 25, 2015 Author Administrators Posted May 25, 2015 Ok, some good news and some set back. First of all I managed to screw up the shaft. Or shaft the shaft in proper english. I got some paint on it (the unwanted kind) and dipped it in aceton. This caused the parts to become... rubber! Mailed Silver Wings and a new one is already on the way! But this weekend i did manage to mask and fit the canopy and add the wheels: But then I noticed an error I made. So be wary of following my lead. The instructions tell you to make the upper cockpit framing all with tubing. 6 tubes going up and one small horizontal one connecting them. Like so: However, the only tubes you need to make are the two 90 degree vertical ones behind the seat and the two 30 degree ones going back down, making an inverted V. The other tubes are integral part of the canopy clear part! So I removed them (while the canopy was glued) and fixed it. Pretty happy with my handiwork: 2
Administrators James H Posted May 25, 2015 Administrators Posted May 25, 2015 Just so damn good. Silverwings' do some impressive stuff. Oh, I found the PE fret for your Hawker Hart. I'll send it over. 1

coolboxx Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Very nice progress even taking it to bits again super kool
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted May 31, 2015 Author Administrators Posted May 31, 2015 Some more small progress. The Master barrels sets arrived. All squashed and flattened in the mail. So i looked for a rod with exactly the right diameter to round it out again. The solution was found in a large paperclip that fitted the bill. Then i fastened the barrels in a drill bit and sanded the hexagon bold off. Also finished masking the whole canopy, with the opening part both inside and outside. 2
