ThomasProbert Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Lookin' good, Cees. How are you going to do the rear and mid-upper turret glazing? Make a master and crash-mould? Vacform your own?
Wingco57 Posted April 30, 2016 Author Posted April 30, 2016 Hi Tom, That is plan B. Plan A is not yet available. Has the parcel arrived? Cees

ThomasProbert Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 What's plan A then? No parcel yet - we've also a bank holiday this weekend so if it doesn't arrive today it may not be until later next week!
Wingco57 Posted May 3, 2016 Author Posted May 3, 2016 Repairing the undercarriage. This is the Lancasters full assembly as they were similar apart from the smaller tyres. One attachment point remains missing. The search is on. Cees 1
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted May 4, 2016 Administrators Posted May 4, 2016 Are you running an axle through them? In that case I'll make a hole in the wheels
Wingco57 Posted May 4, 2016 Author Posted May 4, 2016 Yes please You got those tyre measurements from the manual I sent you recentely? Cees
Administrators Fran Posted May 4, 2016 Administrators Posted May 4, 2016 you already have a Manchester in 1:48? Damn you really like it!!! 1
Wingco57 Posted May 5, 2016 Author Posted May 5, 2016 I do, when I did the 1/48 conversion I could never have thought a 1/32 Lancaster would be possible. Today I have sculpted the dorsal turret's taboo fairing. This was intended to prevent the gunner to shoot off his own tail. This is the rough shape using that wonderful milliput. Later this will be shaped to a shalllower profile. I noticed that this thread has a high number of views but relative few responses. Come on, if any of you have any tips or opinions don't be shy. Cheers Cees
GusMac Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Looks great Cees. Do the turrets differ much from the Lanc?
Wingco57 Posted May 6, 2016 Author Posted May 6, 2016 Only the dorsal and tailturrets Gus, The dorsal version is the earlier FN7, or egg shaped turret as used on the early Stirling and Sunderland. The tail is the FN4 also used on the Whitley. These have to be completely newmade using crashforming. Never done that before so if anyone has any tips, feel free to spread the word. Cees
Wingco57 Posted May 6, 2016 Author Posted May 6, 2016 And the FN4 as installed in the Manchester. Cees
vdbo76 Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 I'm speechless... Your skills and patience in reproducing all those lovely details are amazing. Very interesting to follow! 2
Wingco57 Posted May 6, 2016 Author Posted May 6, 2016 Thanks. But everyone can do this as the interest in a certain subject is addictive. Spent some time shaping the taboo track. Only finishing off to do next. just remove what is not needed. Cees
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted May 6, 2016 Administrators Posted May 6, 2016 Those fairings look great! Sweetness.. 1
Wingco57 Posted May 10, 2016 Author Posted May 10, 2016 The central fin was a steel tube framework covered with fabric. To represent the linnen ribtapes I put thin strips of Tamiya tape on. With a rivetting tool the stitchings will hopefully ve represented and then a coat of mr surfacer to seal everything in. Simple but effective. Hope you like it Cees
Wingco57 Posted May 11, 2016 Author Posted May 11, 2016 Coat of mr surfacer 1000. I'm happy. The central fin is ready for mounting on the rear fuselage. Cees
Administrators James H Posted May 15, 2016 Administrators Posted May 15, 2016 Frickin' amazing! I hope this will be ready for Telford 2
