I understand about the delay in the contest due to the delay in the Lancaster release. But, once HK actually announces the release of the kit, will a new finish date be announced? If so, how long a period of time will there be to complete builds?

Feel free to enter. As you say, the Lanc release date is fluid at the moment, so there's always time to build something.
