PanzerWomble Posted October 24, 2024 Posted October 24, 2024 You fellow Oilbertan , Peg of Zip Ties and Bias Plies has a lot to say about 'Dodge guys' ....none of it good . 🤣
ScottsGT Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 Been spending some time with this old girl. Today was her 59th birthday. She rolled off the assembly line on Oct 25, 1965. And Oct 25th was also my late mother’s birthday. Had to wipe the tune off the EZ-EFI fuel injection system and start over. Ran very rough until it hit the 200 degree operating temp then smoothed out. Let it sit a couple of days and she fired right up. Just a little cantankerous at first, but I was too at 59. After putting a few more miles on it, I pulled out the IR temp gun and noticed some big temp swings on my exhaust ports. Found some potential vacuum leaks I need to address and try again later. 5
BlrwestSiR Posted October 26, 2024 Posted October 26, 2024 She's a beaut Scott. Hard to believe that's a 59 year old car. 3
Martinnfb Posted October 26, 2024 Author Posted October 26, 2024 Very nice. I was thinking about the EZ-EFI retrofit for my fox, but that will be a task for the new owner once its gone. 1

Lots of improvements in aftermarket FI since then. And better options too! I thought about yanking all of this out and starting over until it seemed to improve by starting over. 2
PanzerWomble Posted October 31, 2024 Posted October 31, 2024 He he , I have 'Jetronic' Fuel Injection 😀....no electronics in there at all it's all manual and into the manifolds not the cylinder . Had a trip to the Forest of Dean this week , nice Autumn colours . Now 2000 miles up from when I bought it , thats more than it had done since 2013.. 7
Uraynah Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 That sounds like a nightmare with the insurance, especially having to deal with all those delays. I’ve been through similar frustrations myself—sometimes it feels like you’re going in circles. Glad to hear your Mustang’s in good hands now, though! The new hood sounds like a great upgrade. It’s always nice to see a project like that come together. Hopefully, the rest of the repairs go smoothly and you’ll be back on the road soon!
