Questions relating to Resin and Photo etch ...
JayDee replied to Artful69's topic in Modelling Discussion
I sometimes wash it. If it appears to be a little oily, then always. Eduard and CMK (Artillery in new Fly Wessex kit), all ok. -
That looks amazing! What yellow did you use for those areas? This is making me eager to start mine. Resist I must. To much to do I have.

JayDee replied to Artful69's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
First of all, congrats on the engagement!!! You'll need a big cake and some shipping boxes for us all Now, real glad you started this one and your online building cherry is busted. Really can't wait to see what you make of this one. The new tools are sharp, so no excuses! -

AK Interactive 'The Eagle has Landed' by Aitor Akzue

Probably one of my favourite books on the hobby. Even if you feel pissed with stuff, this is a real inspiring read. Top marks to Aitor and to AK for a beautifully designed tome. -

A.M.U.R. Reaver Bf109G and Bf109K Airscrews
JayDee replied to JeroenPeters's topic in Aircraft Reviews
That looks so sweet. The difference in spinner shape is startling....almost like the difference in the Eagle Spitfire Mk.II spinner to the Revell parts. Very nice indeed -
That superb. Really enjoyed following this one. Gonna try some Mr Paint?

I'm tending to airbrush at around 10 to 12 PSI. Yes, thin layers are preferred, but these build up quickly and use a surprisingly small quantity of paint. I do believe these are lacquers too, and if you want to weather on top, I spray Klear and work as normal. Some acrylic paint, such as Tamiya, spray well. I've also used Gunze with no problem.

Looking good! Perhaps my favourite part of a project (next to first opening box). This will look sweet with decals on.

1:32 Hasegawa Bf109 G-10/U4 "Yellow 19"
JayDee replied to rieser's topic in LSM 1/32 and Larger Aircraft Ready for Inspection
Damn impressive. Probably one of the best 109s I've seen in a long time. I much prefer the later version with the Galland hood and tall tail. -
Still Yellow 2 for me

I can't do without the RB Productions razor saws. I've used several different types before, and these are unsurpassable. PE fold tool....I use Hold 'n Fold 5.5 inch CA Gel and Medium viscosity CA that gives time for stuff to be adjusted Devcon Epoxy Also, remember to clean any resin in warm water and detergent first, just in case there is any mould release remaining. I use an ultrasonic bath for this, and you can typically get them for around £20 in the UK.

Having built one, I know this is a great kit. The parts fit is just amazing. You painting all these sections and adding weathering?
-
Real nice to see one of these being built. I enjoyed the OOB build for my grandson, so I look forward to seeing how you weather this. Sent mine yet?
-
Good to see you building again, and even better at this insane speed Looking pretty good. Can't wait to see you splash it wish shit.

Watch out for the latest issue of Military Illustrated Modeller on Dec 17th. My Horten Ho 229 graces the cover of this one, and I'm well chuffed!
