  1. It cost me Sunday lunch for the paint shop staff but they stayed long enough to pre-shade the Churchill!
  2. Thanks so much. I’ve enjoyed build the kit for the second time.
  3. Thanks Peter. We’ll see how the orange paint lays down!! Fingers crossed!!
  4. During a rare Sunday appearance the paint shop crew was kind enough to pre-shade the Bell X-1.
  5. No but the orange is pretty close according to museum photos but in do like that international orange shade!!!
  6. The paint shop crew was working a very rare Sunday and were kind enough to prime the Churchill for me. Evidently they are falling in love with Stynylrez primer after realizing it sprays much better thinned about 25% using X-20A thinner.
  7. Complete steps 8/9 finishing the Churchill’s assembly. Really fun kit to assemble. One note however before joining the upper and lower hulls make sure yo install the tracks beforehand. Afterwards is too late!!
  8. Complete step 7 assembling the turret section. Kinda a challenging fit but a few clamps straightened it out.
  9. Finished up step 6 of the Churchill build. Moving on to the turret.
  10. Started work in the upper hull adding fender skirts and exhaust assembly;
  11. Oh many thanks. There are 125 finished kits either on shelves or on the walls!! Here are all my armor builds along with a few aircraft. Plus the opposite wall.
  12. Oh wow I haven’t seen a 1/32 Sabre. Who made those?
  13. Thanks Panzer. Yes it’s the old Revell tooling. Tried but true, lol!! Still builds up very nicely. I actually bought the new reboxing of the Sabre Dog a few months ago. Looking forward to building it and the very old Monogram 1/48 F86F!
  14. Thanks again Harv. The kit is still available. I highly recommend it.
  15. Thanks Harv. Some of the old Revell kits are simply a blast to build. They may have flash and pin marks but were all scale model builds!!
  16. Thanks Dennis. I have a second in my stash. I’ll look forward to rebuilding it some day!
  17. With a bit of help from HobbyTown’s Tammy Tyrannosaurus I was able to find the correct paints needed to complete my Bell X-1 kit.
  18. Oh thanks. I hope you’ve enjoyed it.
  19. Oh thanks Peter. I’m enjoying building the kit a second time using my current skill set. I’m essentially a Dark Side kit builder now however I do enjoy the odd aircraft build one in a while. The X-1 is for a FB group build over at The Basement Air Force.
  20. Thanks Peter. It’s been a pretty straightforward build so far!
  21. Oh good!!! There’s lot of A1A kits out there however I’m enjoying Trumpeters version pretty well!
  22. Assembled the large cockpit parts in step 2 and 3 so will do research on color call outs etc tomorrow and look at weather too.
  23. Worked of and on all afternoon detailing the X-1 cockpit. While slightly embellished I think it has plenty of interest especially with the hatch open.
