1/32 FW-190A series Experts please? - I'm chasing decals!!
seiran01 replied to Artful69's topic in Modelling Discussion
I agree that the site is a bit dodgy, I bit the bullet and ordered from him a while back. Had no problems and have ordered twice more since then with no issues. He is a bit insane with some of the pricing, then again, he's rumored to be a bit insane anyway -

Hey Rog, Cutting Edge did them (see pic below), you can still buy them at Fine Art Of Decals for $18US. The site is the new website from Dave Klaus of Cutting Edge, selling off old stock. Link is http://www.fineartofdecals.com/goodies/132-treasures/, the set is Exciting FW190's #2, about 3/4 way down the page. If he won't ship to Aus, email me at mikeswinburne@gmail.com and I can get them out to you Cheers! Mike -
I'm frankly amazed that I was able to finish this kit, considering my lack of patience for all things related to rigging! Well here she is, Wingnut's nice little DH.2 kit, out of the box with EZ Line. This markings option is in the Duelists double boxing which also includes the Fokker E.III kit.

Hi Cees, it's fairly thin plastic but you need to bend it (with heat, carefully!) and glue it into place -

I have in my grubby little paws a brand new Hasegawa 1/16 scale Sopwith Camel, and oooh boy is it nice. I think this may have set a new shipping record from Hobbylink Japan, and this was the first time I tried out their private warehouse feature (recommended!) I'll defer to the myriad of full-sprue photos posted on http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10223161 to give an overall view of the parts and instructions, but to see things in more detail, here we go. First impression - the box is nearly as big as the HK B-25 and inside you get four different sprue colors (tan, brown, black, light gray), plus a sprue of satin chrome-plated parts and a clear sprue. Oh, plus rubber tyres, aluminum tape, thread, copper wire, full-size plans to assist in rigging, and a decal sheet. The satin chrome sprue is akin to the tamiya chrome finish on the 1/48 F-84 or 1/32 silver plated P-51 - absolutely gorgeous, the pics do not do it justice. Control surfaces are all moveable and linked to the stick and pedals. The ailerons are rigged to move the same way the real plane was, with the stick only controlling the lower ailerons and the uppers being moved vie the cable system from the lowers. There are provisions int he parts to have non-moveable surfaces if you prefer. Unfortunately I see a LOT of ejector pin marks on one side of all of the ribs and wing parts, inside of the fuselage side sprues, etc. They are, on the plus side, fairly shallow ejector marks for the most part, but the number will still be frustrating. Overall detail looks great, and the control panel has extremely fine details inside the instrument faces. One nit pic I did come up with was that the propeller hub is molded on the propeller. It seems that it would have been easy to mold it as a separate part to ease painting. Guns barrels are molded in two halves but I didn't look closely to see how much of an impact that would have. Enough from me, I'll let the pics speak for themselves:

Having a bit of fun right now over on LSP, Heinz was kind enough to email me pics of a just-announced Me410 in resin from HPH in 1/32 (high res at https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-glegMqwVJdU/UcXGqsB8TlI/AAAAAAAACH0/ougj0XDdK0Y/w1172-h879-no/Me-410_1.JPG) (high res at https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-V5pIzQMkngg/UcXGqvORZXI/AAAAAAAACHw/I7Xhvn23D4U/w1172-h879-no/Me-410_2.JPG)

It's hard to stress how glad I am to get this kit finished. It's still disappointing after all these years that Trumpeter made so many errors with accuracy and fit/design of their harrier series. Considering how well engineered most large scale trumpeter kits are (in my opinion), the annoyance caused by the following led me to shelf this build many time, and probably also are the reason that I can count on one hand how many of these kits I've seen completed: exhaust nozzles HUD gear wells (especially nose well) exhaust nozzles again gaps in intake where front fuselage plugs in ejector pin marks in intake fit of intakes to fuselage exhaust nozzles LERX being hollow underneath and yes, again, the exhaust nozzles. he Zotz decals are simply superb. I liked them so much that I actually used two whole sets of the decals on the plane! Granted, I didn't clear coat before decalling the first time so silvering was everywhere, but I don't think Eli will complain that he got an extra sale out of me! Thanks for looking Mike

I've been using MicroSol almost exclusively for a few years now and have yet to come across decals from a mainstream manufacturer where the Sol didnt do it's job. Yes Dave, even on WNW kit decals where it says to use none For the rare time I need a bit of extra help over a varies surface area, I'll drop some Solvaset on it
