  1. Glued the bumper and some air tanks on the bones today, just to say I did something. The Lanc will be done in a couple or three weeks, then full time on this one. I’m ready to do a groundbound vehicle for a change.
  2. Trigger, will you have this a Chattanooga in a few weeks? Looking awesome, mang!
  3. It’s actually explained on the decal sheet. Which I found odd because a PR Mossie wasn’t exactly an aircraft that would be considered disposable or short lived. Most lasted a very, very long time.
  4. Thanks, Phil, it's been one of those days. I needed that!
  5. John, I'm THRILLED this is back on the bench. I've seen so many really stellar builds of this kit it'd be a shame to not see it done. Of course, mine still languishes in the stash with it's 10 lbs of AM goodies, so that shows you I'm personally all talk and little action. I'm looking forward to seeing the culmination of this. And please be forewarned. I have a feeling that if this hits the SOD again, Phil will call in an airstrike on your location right after Gazz sends in the Hussars.
  6. Two full seasons for sure, unless they did more. It’d be cool to have a sympathetic careful redo of that show, don’t change much of anything, just modernize the special effects a bit. Looking back even today, that show had most of the real space effects nailed.
  7. Galactica was GREAT. But to me, Space 1999, for all its hokey 1970s schlockyness, was a really decent series. We saw it first run in Canada, but if I remember right, it took a little longer to air in the USA. I think Patrick Stewart WAS Star Trek NexGen. He was and is, brilliant. Yeah, the Ferengi were just a bit over the top for me. If I build any SciFi kit at all, it’ll be the MPC 1/48 Eagle transporter.
  8. Like all series, they all eventually “Jump the shark”, ST and SW not excepted. I think ST, like the story of Superman, can be saved completely by boing back to the raw original storyline, not changed up for social justice or political correctness, just use what made it great in the beginning. For ST, I’d go with the Picard/Striker/Data/Worf theme, that series took ST from cult acceptance to modern day huge mainstream success. SW? Go right back to the original storyline and don’t waver one bit. Just like Superman, they went back to Smallville with an unassuming middle America small town kid who made it big.
  9. Martin asked me not to share this, so... Here are a few very rare pictures of his personal Soviet era archive with him at work researching aircraft for builds and a picture of his office the Workers Party Research Directive
  10. Apparently all it is is someone forgot to remove the masking before spraying the emblems, and they just left it alone.
  11. Yeah, I liked that one alot, although it scared the dickens out of me when it was first released.
  12. It's a bleedin' flying saucer with Nazi markings.
  13. I heard that too, Carl. It should be an easy conversion. And a unique one as well.
  14. OK so he lost it on the roll out. Rack up enough taildragger time and you too will eventually have a sporty rollout.
  15. I know Smitty has a hankering for the truly stupidest of all sci fi kits. The Haunebooboo flying dinner plate in full it’s Waffen SS idiocy.
  16. Cat, I’m with you there. I love GOOD science fiction as much as anyone else, but I’m way too much of an aviation guy and I always struggle with the basics. Like air breathing turbojets in space, open F-86 style inlets on the front of fighters, atmospheric maneuverability in space, engine and weapons SOUND in space, no reentry issues with thin skinned fighters, etc, etc. yep, I’m a horrible fan, but I try to look the other way for a couple hours as I take it in. Space 1999 was by far my favorite, at least technically speaking, same, more or less, with Star Trek until it started getting corny of late. Yeah, I’m a Picard-O-holic. So Yeah, I get peeved as well. LOL! So now, off to find that 1/48 Eagle 1....
  17. I think the HK kit doesn’t need much in mods for this version. Just basic PR stuff, but I do apparently like aircraft with lots of Hi-Viz red on them.
  18. Been looking for these for years and years and years. Some two stage love! Hubba hubba hubba!
  19. Looking great so far! That fuselage looks like it suffered a high G pullout. I can't wait to be able to get started on mine
