  1. This year is shaking up to be decent. Even in a good year, I couldn’t build barely four of those.
  2. Hey, I built the Nautilus, though. As in Jules Verne
  3. Awesome builds. I never saw the possibilities in that old kit. That Spiteful is amazing.
  4. Truer words have never been spoken!
  5. I think the hobby’s going to be fine. Maybe the focus is shifting somewhat away from Corsairs, Mustangs, and 190s, but kids are still building. But they’re building fruity colored jets flown by room broom packing young girls wearing short shorts. They also build models of goofy looking robotic cartoon stuff. And they paint it all with Testors primary colors out of the old glass bottles. Just like WE used to do, except we built the old Aurora Monsters and other glow in the dark goofiness. We built goofy models of the latest Barris custom creation, and moved up from there. Very few of us were creating award winning Corsairs or F-16s when we were 12. But we built the heck out of a Jules Verne Nautilus..... Yep, the hobby is fine. We’re just old. Tigers, Sherman’s, 190s, Corsairs, and Spitfires are great grandpa stuff to the youngsters. But 109s will live forever, though.
  6. Martin, those pics speak volumes. I need to attach thin rectangular covers over the window areas. Belay that! I just need to scribe rectangles around the glass areas.
  7. Check out that green paint! That’s NOT RAF interior green. That’s US interior green, almost a green chromate. I think I was right in mixing RAF and US interior greens together. Definitely a chromate on the panels, and a hybrid look on the bulkheads. Two different greens
  8. Mike, I’m going to modify what you sent, and as long as we don’t break through, we’re good. We did alright with the pics we had at the time.
  9. Fixing seams, rescribing, giving Radu’s riveter a workout... Plenty of smoothing to do.
  10. The fuel tank fits like a glove. Now to make some straps and the plumbing.
  11. That interior decor is awe inspiring, Mark
  12. Martin, I have Apoxie for you as well. It’s semi easier to get here. I try to buy it when I see it
  13. I’ve got this Panzer 38..... in 1/16 scale
  14. Agreed. This makes me actually want to try a tank. I’ll never be competition good with them, but just building something different might be nice.
  15. It’s on my list of things to do. I might even attempt a fix like Iain Ogilvie is attempting to develop. But your attention to detail on this kit is truly unbelievable. Like I said before, it’s stunning. With the possible exception of the Lancaster and the C-47, I can’t think of a kit I was looking forward to more than this. The B-24’s never been considered an attractive aircraft, but ooooh what a canvas for budding Rembrandts to practice their skills on.
  16. I must say that this kit has, so far, been an absolute pleasure to build. The fuselage closed up extremely nicely. There is a lot of stuff inside that fuselage, and it all lines up and fits well. Yes I’m paranoid and have checked the fit every build session, sometimes 3 or 4 times per session, but no changes were needed other than a bit of relief on the sidewalls around the aftermarket panel.
  17. Extremely nicely built Panzer. I love it! The figure is great as well. I only wish I could do figures that well
  18. Welcome to LSM, Gary! You've achieved a truly stunning result from a supposedly "unbuildable" kit. Superb! I look at the turrets and I see many, many hours of buffing and polishing.. LOL Nicely done. And that natural metal finish. Just WOW! I'm looking forward to seeing more like this, and yes, armor is definitely welcome here. It'll be great to see more armor WIPs and finished work. I'm sitting here waiting with baited breath anticipation. - E
  19. I'll have a go as well. I've been looking for a reason to jump back into an MDC Tiffie or even it might help me choose a subject for the HPH Cat. But I can't jump in until after the US Nats at the start of Aug. Lanc commitments. Personally, I think this is a great idea. No pressure, just nice easy builds. Yeah a deadline, but with all the armor possibilities, it should be easily done. I'm not sure I could complete a resin 1/32 airplane to any standard above toddler lever in less than 6 months.
  20. Maple syrup, dropped en masse on to the ocean, will gum up the cooling inlets of enemy shipping. What a brilliant idea!
  21. Exactly. It’s a type of odd plastic with a strange feel to it, but it sands well and after a wipe, holds primer nicely. I’m not sure how to treat it, so I treat it like resin.
