Agreed. This makes me actually want to try a tank. I’ll never be competition good with them, but just building something different might be nice. -

It’s on my list of things to do. I might even attempt a fix like Iain Ogilvie is attempting to develop. But your attention to detail on this kit is truly unbelievable. Like I said before, it’s stunning. With the possible exception of the Lancaster and the C-47, I can’t think of a kit I was looking forward to more than this. The B-24’s never been considered an attractive aircraft, but ooooh what a canvas for budding Rembrandts to practice their skills on. -
I must say that this kit has, so far, been an absolute pleasure to build. The fuselage closed up extremely nicely. There is a lot of stuff inside that fuselage, and it all lines up and fits well. Yes I’m paranoid and have checked the fit every build session, sometimes 3 or 4 times per session, but no changes were needed other than a bit of relief on the sidewalls around the aftermarket panel.

Extremely nicely built Panzer. I love it! The figure is great as well. I only wish I could do figures that well -

Welcome to LSM, Gary! You've achieved a truly stunning result from a supposedly "unbuildable" kit. Superb! I look at the turrets and I see many, many hours of buffing and polishing.. LOL Nicely done. And that natural metal finish. Just WOW! I'm looking forward to seeing more like this, and yes, armor is definitely welcome here. It'll be great to see more armor WIPs and finished work. I'm sitting here waiting with baited breath anticipation. - E -
D-Day 75th Anniversary GB interest thread

I'll have a go as well. I've been looking for a reason to jump back into an MDC Tiffie or even it might help me choose a subject for the HPH Cat. But I can't jump in until after the US Nats at the start of Aug. Lanc commitments. Personally, I think this is a great idea. No pressure, just nice easy builds. Yeah a deadline, but with all the armor possibilities, it should be easily done. I'm not sure I could complete a resin 1/32 airplane to any standard above toddler lever in less than 6 months. -

So here’s the fuel tank. It was printed in two halves just to make it easier to print. Mike put a flat plate on one side to aid mounting. I’ll make some steel straps, a sump with pickup and a fuel line, and presto, I stand Maritime Patrol long range Lanc. In the rearof the bay, maybe some life rafts, depth charges, or 500lb general purpose bombs. We’ll see.

Received my 3D printed parts from Mike. 1. Bomb Bay fuel tank. 2. Rear observation windows 3. Late open style wide mouth postwar exhausts. Now we’re running.... polishing and fitting the windows tonight. My fingers smell like Crest toothpaste. Shimmed them to perfectly fit the openings. 3D printing these windows probably was not the best way to represent these, but Mike and I are experimenting and I’m going to showcase everything that he creates. The fuel tank and exhausts are little works of art. And actually, the bit of pattern the printer leaves on the parts looks right at home on the fuel tank. A skim of sanding to take the edges off and it looks like rolled and pressed sheet metal.

Congrats, buddy! Have fun. Never been there, never will, either

Stunning work, Mr. Castle, as usual. Funny factoid here, Peter; I’m actually using your build as reference for my still ongoing Rutman P-51B build. Your cockpit detail is phenomenal. I hope to learn enough from your tutorials to give me a fighting chance of a partial NMF finish with my B-36 a real possibility when it comes about. -

Mike, THAT is a great idea. A D-Day theme is an idea that might just even bring in folks from other sites to participate. I really like the idea of prizes as well. I’d have it open to everything Overlord related, not just aircraft. There’s more than a few AFV guys around here, and even some aircraft guys that cross over at times. I think it’s be a hit!

Time to resurrect this one

Put it in the Wurger build as well! I’ll get on with my started PCM A-3 when my Lanc is done in a month or so.

Heck man, around here, anything goes!

We have an Fw-190 thing going on now. Informal, but it could be formalized. I’d do it, after the Lanc’s done. Wurger Party
