  1. Very, very tempting but that’s what the pile of one holers are for.
  2. This is just a quick dry assembly of the he forward fuselage, and so far I’ve found absolutely nothing untoward. Just remember tvat KittyKawk’s method of molding does leave some edges with a bit of flash. The ever present ejection towers need to be nipped off and I’ve seen evidence of flow marks, but so far no sink areas. Just inspect for, and deal with sink spots if you find them. They’re a pain, but they happen.
  3. Hmm. “I see”, said the blind carpenter to his deaf wife. Who then picked up his hammer and saw.
  4. Hey guys, I think I have some great news to report. I looked at the reviews of the single seater, and one of the goods they found was that the right side console was backwards, necessitating a quick razor saw job. It looks like Kitty Hawk has fixed that little oversight Maybe the resident F-5-o-holics could verify? Here’s the front and rear offices. Rear first
  5. Phil, let’s just say I’m way, way out of my comfort zone here. Which is what makes me doing this build a good thing, actually,
  6. This is wild! If they get this right, they’ll sell gazillions of them. the one 190 we DO need is a really good short nose A-0/1/2/3/4. Just make the engine mounting non goofy to avoid potential alignment issues with the inevitable multi piece cowl. Do it right, you’ll make lifelong customers. The T-28 was brilliant. This can be too.
  7. Yes of course to do the raffle. Because it’s a good thing. Builds character.
  8. Uhhh no, ne, nada, geen, nyet, non, hapana, fugedaboudit! Did I miss any?
  9. Regarding Santa's crimes against humanity, yes, I'd say yes, at a bare minimum,: 1. Forcible Confinement and Slave Labour Laws are being broken 2. International Copyright Laws are being Flaunted 3. Forgery on a Grand Scale is occuring. He pays no royalties for the use of Trademarks, etc. 4. Tax Evasion of the likes unequaled anywhere in history 5. Just about every Civil Aviation Airworthiness, Licensing, Airman Compliance, Competence and Currency, and Navigation Rule ever written has been flagrantly flaunted and broken. 6. And he's probably just an asshole. I saw him in the mall one, drunk, slip Mrs. Murphy the tongue. Gross!
  10. Nope, no Christmas night mad Birthday Suit dash for me. I'm staying fully clothed this time.
  11. You're in, and you're donating a Hasegawa 190A something or other. I'll get back to you, I gotta check the box!
  12. Now that looks like wild ride, Peter! Good to see you back my friend, and Happy Birthday!!!!!
  13. Some cool, cool stuff there, eh. Thanks Ivan. I honestly appreciate that, Comrade. If there was an emoji for a fist people power salute, I'd use it. Twice. Maybe thrice. Between you and Martin my super secret Ex Soviet Spy friend, you seem to have found all the pictures of all the aircraft of all time. Martin even found very unflattering pictures of me while I was semi inebriated.....
  14. The sad thing about all that is that most of it is stuff that's pretty much small scale stuff that sells for a couple bucks on the bargain table in the LHS and at giveaway prices . Not much has any real "street value", per se. I'm not into collector kits as some are, I'm a builder, and as a result I like resin and anything that'll give me the most accurate version of an aircraft with the least amount of BS. My stash is all decent stuff and despite rumors to the contrary, looks worse than it is because it's all large scale kits with large scale boxes. And my wife knows exactly what to do if I get hit by a bus.
  15. Sharknose is the only one I saw. But I wasn't looking closely. I'll recheck tonight. But I do happen to have a couple Hasegawa kits handy that can donate their pointy ends...
  16. Well, my grandmother always told me, “If you can’t dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullschitt”. So based upon those words I live by, and that this is a quick build with no sea level change for the cockpit floor and no deepening of the seat bottoms, I shall endeavor to place an official looking dark grey box on the glareshield, and maybe increase its importance astomomically by running two or three leads from it. The rest of the panel? Oh well.
  17. He’s got quite the stash. And I thought I was insane, but there seems to be no rhyme or reason to what he has. Just piles of kits. 80% of mine is WW2 and earlier British, German, and some US. Postwar mostly US, British and Czechoslovakian. And I want to build it all. The only thing I saw that piqued my interest was the Revell-Lodella Beaufighter.
  18. Can this be built without all the goofy turbocharger ducting in place? Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing this develop
