And yet for all the issues with HPH, they hit home runs. The Mig-15 and L-39 are great kits. I'd love the Delfin as well, but it's OOP for the time being.

I don't understand HPH. They break their backs to make world class sailplanes for the real world, yet they struggle with sometimes the simplest of details such as this. Why go through all the trouble for a half baked product? Yet I will buy and do what I need to do, I suppose. It fixes many of the ills, and I have the Zacto stuff to fix the rest. I'll basically end up with full a resin kit with some IM add ons.

Well, I was able to buy a pair of sprues on evilbay for 35 clams, so I did ok, I suppose. I expect I can doctor them up withsomePE fins and all will be well.

The Euro Mustang sounds like a Harley on steroids. Not your typical American (or Aussie) V8 muscle car sound.

Tom I heard that the fit of the cowls is “interesting”, to say the least. Which might be why so many are built open.

I looked at my bubble top and quite simply put, it’s positively stunning! Probably the only kit I’ve ever seen that openly hollers “BUILD ME!”

This would be one of my dream conversions of one was ever commercially offered. I don't think I'd have the drive or the time to scratch one out.

Great start so far. This kit along with it's bubbletop brother lingers in my stash, and I'm longing to see this built.

I've heard that the hind quarter curves above the burner cans are kind of funky, but I'm no F-4-O-Holic. The one's I've seen built look Phantabulous to me though. I've built a couple of the Acadamy F-4B/N kits and I loved them. I thought THAT kit was spot on. I only added some PE panels and belts, but other than that, straight OOB.

I’ve yet to find the definitive CF-100 reference book, and I have plenty of books on the subject. Really good 3 views, cross sections, systems drawings, internal pictures, etc, are difficult to find. The shape looks asic enough, but the swoops and curves around the engines where they join the fuselage and meet the wings are a nightmare to get right.

Oh boy! Carl, nice haul! The Clunk book of coursevget’s me all a’twitter, but the big patrol bomber lights my fire. The Privateer is, to me, the ultimate B-24 development that ultimately served the longest, and is ohhhhh so very cool. Yeah, there’s a very loud vocal minority who say that the PB4J-2 is THE version that should be kitted.

Thanks Gazz. I got f do up with the endless pe and resin and at one time, almost binned the whole bunch. It’s a touch monotonous looking right now, but that’ll change quickly enough. I have some cool little brass 75mm shells to place in the rack as well. The other fuselage side is constructed as well and there is a loader’s seat and radio rack installed. I need to make a gun breech and a floor ejection trapdoor for spent casings. And of course, there will be a literal nest of wiring Sad that most of this will never be seen

This is depressing. A year’s worth of fiddle-farting around netted me this. Yes, it kinda looks like amateur hour here, but that was the state of affairs when I put it aside a year ago. The interior is resin castings with all extra details scratched. The jump seat is just sitting unsecured on the floor. Plus two decent engines and a tail gun emplacement but that’s not important right now. Plenty of scratching left to do along with radio mounting and ALL the wiring. Then weathering it to look like it spent the last year operating off a coral island in the middle of the salt filled air of the sweltering South Pacific. In other words, weather it to within an inch of its life. (Think A-36 Apache in 1945) I have plenty of placards for her, panel, side panels, radios, etc. Like others here, I’m scratching a large portion of the interior, and most, if not all will be invisible when finished But it’s fun and educational, and I really don’t know when or where to stop

Yep, All I know is that NA built the H with no right seat and only one set of controls. I’ve read that many AAF Birds were retrofitted in the field, but not much is known about the South Pacific Marine ships. They pulled out the top turrets and ditched the package guns to save weight, so adding a bunch back in a second control column and seat seems counter productive
