Stop the press!! New Wingnut Wings Lancaster on the way!
Clunkmeister replied to Clunkmeister's topic in Modelling Discussion
Awesome news, James. To be honest, the HK Lanc may turn out to be the deal of the pack. If the test shot looks good, and the test builds are good, given HK's price point, and assuming that it needs little more AM than wheels and gun barrels, I'll buy and build one for sure. That's an absolute certainty -

Yup. New pics up on WNW website, and the details are mind numbing. -

Back to P-51B. Pieced together some HGW seatbelts tonight and have them draped on the seat. It’s looking much better. -

That’s insane! Truly insane! -
Well, it’s a project in between magic Mustang moments. So it’ll go slow.

A brand new Aero Vodochny and a beat up old Antonov ought to be enough to bring back memories. -

And I dragged this out, just to get PeterPools all worked up and Smitty and Martin salivating. And it’s one of my favorite jets of all time Maybe next year, who knows. But not till I have a clear bench -

Just to show I haven’t been completely idle, we do have this little pic from today. I’m just working on some of the interior items, getting them together so we can start detailing. -

Thank you, Sir Peter! Coming from you, that means much. -
Whoever painted that top one, yeah, waaay too much vodka

Tony, welcome to the world of HK models. They’re beautifully done on the outside, but give you the absolute bare minimum of extra details. He good news is that the “bare canvas” rules apply, and you can make one show stopping model out of it with little work other than some AM and time.

That Spey powered Brit Toom is one I’ll gladly stand in line for. Maybe Airfix’ll release one 10 seconds after HK? And RoG will release a Ju-52 for $12.95 two days after HK announces theirs. -

Yeah I’m onboard for the B-47. RCAF scheme for sure. The B-52 might be a bridge too far for me.- 32 replies

HGW belts are truly amazing. I use Radu’s as well, but ahagaw (typo, but for Harv: HGW. I sure love autocorrect) has belts for everything, and they look awesome when done. Carl filled me in on the leaving the buckles on the frets, and it’s taken 95% of the stress out of assembly.

I read the entire WNW Lanc thread over on TOS, and there sure seems there’s plenty of angst over this. -
Did anyone notice the other LSM’s at the show?

That Sir is the understatement of the year! A accurate Photo-40B will be incredibly welcomed by me. I have the old Craftworks resin kit, and I really don’t want to build a crazy valuable collector kit if at all possible. -
FYI, found HPH resin glue for sale in the US.

I talked to him yesterday and he’s gonna try to get more. I had shown him a month ago what it can do and waxed poetic on the stuff. Trust me when I say, it’s magic stuff. Much thinner than regular epoxy, but not runny. 12 hour epoxy, rock hard in 24 hours. What I love is how it fills gaps and levels itself. Put it on joints and it’s almost a gap sealer by default. It’s super hard to get into the country, why, I don’t know. YMMV, but it’s improved my resin builds 200% easily.
