  1. Thanks Phil. Yeah, there’s plenty of oh so cool P-51B schemes out there, but with the big show in Chattanooga next year, and with the Tuskegee group possibly sending a delegation, I think it’s only fitting. Plus, like all WW2 vets, we’re rapidly losing them all to time. Thanks for the pic. Just as Martin does, it’s true inspiration.
  2. William!!! Welcome, my friend, welcome!!
  3. On my way to the hardware store to purchase a better respirator for sanding resin. Also, gotta buy a bunch more sandpaper...
  4. Martin, the three of us: HPH Mug-15s.
  5. He’s got 50 half finished ones on the SOD. like me, but I only have 23.
  6. Yeah, you caught Brian and Imin the bar, too. LOL. Then after he left, Richard Alexander and I went a few rounds as well.. LOL You only live once. Funny thing though. I might not touch 3 drinks the rest of the year...
  7. This came today....
  8. My cousin and my daughter in law having fun. And I’m playing John Wayne. The first pic is of course of our Texas family picnic.
  9. Well, here’s a few of my collectible stuff. Kudos to the person who can ID them all.
  10. Welcome, Martin! Your SOD must look like a VVS airfield in 1942. Or a German airfield in 1945.
  11. I’m glad you guys posted this. I was thinking the same thing the other day. It will drive traffic as well....
  12. Maru, it’s great to see you here!
  13. Not sure how y’all run a GB here with targets having a sub forum all their own, but say, if we did Eastern Front, I’d think moving ground targets would be included?
  14. Yup. I’m a 1/32 purist, but a prop geek. Modern jets are cool, but I sure don’t have room for six Sukhoi 27s in 1/32. 1/48 does have it’s place, but only as an option. I’d never buy a 1/48 Spitty, 190, or Me-262. but modern Russian jets, plus F-18s and F-14s? All the time.
  15. Let’s start making plans for next year, y’all! http://www.ipmsusanationals.com/
  16. Ohhh yeah. This man knows my heart! I love be some side by side Sukhoi.
  17. Martin, that doesn’t look hideous, oh yee of cut and paste technology. MuG-9 is saying finish me please. Right now it’s only a MuG-7 3/4 Anyone who doesn’t know Martin, know this: He’s the crazy Slovak kit-stitcher. He can kitbash a 1/32 Tamiya F-16 into a Cessna 310.
  18. Here’s a bit of one of the wing roots. Don’t worry about sand scratches. They’ll be filled, sanded, primed, then scribed.
  19. It doesn’t look like much right now, but Jerry Rutman’s P-51B kit gives you a dead on the nuts accurate P-51B shape. If you sand it and fit it carefully, you can build a perfect shelf model. How far you take it from there is totally up to you. I intend to go as far as my ability allows. This P-51B will be good, assuming I don’t bork up the castings, which are made of unobtainium.
  20. Ok guys. A bit of an update for y’all. One thing on resin kits is that before we can even “build” the model, we need to get the airframe to fit properly. so we sand and fit, scrape, file, sand, and fit some more. Don’t worry about going too far, we can fill small gaps with styrene. But we need it close. Here’s where I’m at right now. The wing bottom needs plenty of major material removed. It’s a byproduct of resin casting before all the high tech fancy equipment they use today. So let’s sand...
  21. Thanks Phil, We all did well. SH had some decent deals and Eduard and Aires was doing booming business with weeklong sales. It was a good week. I wanted the ZM Dornier A-12 as well, but my luggage said no.
