Phil, doing what the KGB suggests was the hardest thing I had to master in modeling. But once I did, it made all the difference. Just a slightly lightened color in the middle of panels then a filter wash to blend it all in. Makes all the difference!

Smitty, does the military still use the L-39 for Top Gun and similar dissimilar air to air training?
-
Oh yeah! Easily the world’s sexiest small jet. Oh how I love an L-39. Whoever designed it had a curvy lady on his mind, because they are simply a rolling masterpiece of cool.

FINALLY! 10 minutes ago I did a rapid test and am COVID negative. Still feel like a blob of gelatin, but I’m COVID free. Thanks for the prayers and positive waves.

Ever since I saw a Z-37 in action as a kid, I’ve always had a strange attraction to this thing. Literally a farm tractor with wings. Purpose built and almost indestructible.

For those of us who build short run, low pressure molding THIS IS amazing.

I’ve been collecting navel lint, ear wax, and toe jam my entire life. I want to get enough to sculpt a 1/24 scale Vostok 1

We’ll Carl, Toronto space is at a premium, especially along Bloor, if that’s where you are. Gotta move to Owen Sound. LOTS of space up there. Haha And yeah, the trunk of the 58 is huge, but the roof’s gotta fit in there. An 800 lb steel roof coming down on your Honda might not end well.

Yup. 30 deep. That 58 Retractable is 21 ft long. It gives me plenty of room to move around.

It’s 30x40 ft. My only regret was allowing the contractor to install those roll up doors. They have zero use except as a viewblock.

I just added a few nice pieces to my collection of vintage kit. A 1934 Swiss K31 in 7.5x55. A 1943 produced Ballester-Molina .45ACP. And another CZ75 compact to balance out the other side. The Ballester is Argentinian Air Force issue. My first time out with it, it swallowed an extractor. So I spent several weeks installing and tuning a new one. The Ballester is a really, really nice pistol. The K31 is a literal tack driver. The CZ? What can I say, it’s a CZ. One of the best handguns produced anywhere in the world today

We’ll, my barn is slowly taking shape. Our man cave/bar is behind me here, and the place is cluttered due to the crap we’re moving around. Got the 56 Meteor and 58 Skyliner inside with tons of room to spare.

Let me help you on this. PUT THIS CRAP TO BED. Give it a rest. We don’t generally remove posts. You, more than most, know this. We choose to let stuff stand. I don’t want a pissing match here or a gloatfest. COOL YOUR JETS AND STAND DOWN. This is over and it’s done with. Don’t go down that road of stirring the pot. Let it end. Deep breath, step back from the keyboard. Go build something and this will age out. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

Well said. Every person here has differing feelings on his own build thread. I’m as wide open as it gets, others want to be more pointed. Have doubts, a PM works wonders and avoids tors being stepped on. For example, if I want to publish your build thread or your RFI on our Facebook page, I always ask permission first.

copper state models 1:32 Caudron G. III - Copper State Model
Clunkmeister replied to Fran's topic in Aircraft Reviews
I think this’ll be straightforward like the DH.2 and Fe.2b. -
OK. Time to give this crap a rest. ☠️ 💣 ☠️ We can all mine everyone’s previous posts and find something. Time to take a deep breath and step back.

I’m going to stand up for Jeroen here. If I had been on the ball here, I would have been on this, not Jeroen. This happened in my time zone area which is really my responsibility. Jeroen acted because I was unable to do so. He had to do so quickly. If you want to blame anyone, blame me. We’re all human, guys. Things happen. I’ve deleted posts here that in retrospect I wish I hadn’t. In one case I actually restored the vanished post after I reflected on it. I’ve taken heat for it from members and willingly listen with an open mind to all sides. I promise y’all, you’re never going to find a more laid back, fair, and open minded moderating team anywhere. Not blowing our horns, it’s just fact. Unlike other places that’ll instantly ban you if you dare question a mod, we encourage it. To a point. Because we’re human. Krow’s thread was a shit show. He should have talked to us. We could have fixed any grievance. Those things that stick out on the side of our heads aren’t just decorations. We listen, as y’all know. Please guys, let’s get back to building models. And talking together like the friends we are. We’re Not TOS and I refuse to act like we are. This isn’t my first run in with Krow. He’s been on my radar and the recipient of an attitude adjustment in the past. That was quite awhile ago. I guess it never took. I don’t stand for gloating about an outcome either. What happened, happened. Let’s remember, COVID SUX and we’re all on the ragged edge right now. Peace, y’all.

Well actually, my dog peed in a bucket and I bottled it. Tastes better than Budweiser.

copper state models 1:32 Caudron G. III - Copper State Model
Clunkmeister replied to Fran's topic in Aircraft Reviews
Great review as always, Fran! Yes the Caudron is a risk for CSM, a subject WAY out in left field, but it was a workhorse during the first third of the last century, and it deserves to be modeled. It's good to see CSM tackling the French subjects that WNW so obviously ignored, and I, for one, can't wait to get a good close look at this kit! -
That's better than Shiner.
-
And all we have down here is Shinerbock. In other news, I've killed most of a bottle of Jack Daniels while sick. And I detest Jack Daniels. It's what comes out the back of the horse after having a good 16 year old Glenfiddich go in the front of the horse.
