I pray this is true, or even partially true. SOMEBODY or maybe different people, are running around in a MiG-29 harassing the Russians. I expect the truth is somewhere in the middle, but Ukraine needs a hero right now.

My mistake. Yes, absolutely

And now this. AN225 chief pilot tweets that Mriya is whole. So with everything so up in the air, no pun intended, no matter where you stand on this conflict, please pray or send good thoughts to our friends and the people out that way. Alexey Belov from Propper Plane, ResKit, Roden, Modelsvit, AMUR Reaver, we all have relationships with good people out there, plus all our friends and family out that way.

Multiple unconfirmed reports state that the world’s only AN225 has been destroyed by bombing in its hangar at Antonov Airport outside Kyiv. If true, this is a MASSIVE blow to the world’s heavy airlift industry.

We’re literally getting overrun. So I have a really beat up old Russian SKS that works great for that stuff. Nothing fancy, just put some decent night optics on it so I can stay out when they’re running. Can’t really use higher power stuff out there because civilization’s coming ever closer. A buddy even uses a Winchester Model 1894 in 44 Magnum. It’s works remarkably well. Then we either leave them where they fall or drag them close to a fence line. Buzzards and coyotes are very efficient clean up artists. A week later, there’s nothing but bones. I’d show you the after pictures, but some might find them unnerving. Let’s just say we mount the leftovers on a fence post. It keeps land speculators away

Ha! The roof is electrically operated through a system of levers, screw jacks, counterbalance springs, relays, and limit switches. All automatic with a simple push of a button.

Some of the memorabilia although we have many more signs still packed away, plus vintage neon signs as well. The 1948 AMI jukebox works perfectly, the 1952 Coke Cola machine works well, and the 1934 gas pumps is restored back to new.

Well, our remodel of one bay in our car barn is slowly coming together. The bar is Hickory, and the wall planks are from shipping pallets. I just gave it one coat of clear oil based treatment. I’ll do one more tomorrow. That Hickory positively glows with warmth. It turned out even better than I thought. Once the walls are ready, we have a bunch of old automotive related signs and memorabilia for the walls.

Trying to get this roof all timed and working properly gives me great respect for those who restore P-51 Mustangs.

Fiat CR.42 „Falco” 1:32 ICM
Clunkmeister replied to Kriss's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
ICM has been doing great work of late! Great build, Kriss and I’m looking forward to seeing this one develop. I have the Luftwaffe version in my stash, but I’m really waiting for the Italian kit to arrive here. -
Yeah, lost electrical for three days. Lines were down and I was freezing me arse off.

Felt good enough today to go out and shoot a few wild hogs. They’re literally tearing up the land and it’s getting tiring

I’m here now. I had a case of what they call Long Covid. I kicked it and it came back. Lungs. No hospital, but the cold weather dropped me. Plus, for some reason, until I just tried, I was unable to log on at my house. It’s apparently repaired, was a problem with my local ISP. Blessings, y’all. We’re good and I’m actually even back at the bench. E

1929 Fokker Super Universal
Clunkmeister replied to Clunkmeister's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
No issues reviving it. I’ve been slowly gathering info on it as I go, and yes, it’s some strange engineering. I’m semi familiar with ultralights, but just in passing. The Super U is certainly no ultralight, it’s a 1340 cubic inch radial engined monster that was an absolute home run for Tony Fokker in the 20s. I’ve since seen more pics, and the copilot seat is a stow away jump seat. In Canadian Service, it was usually occupied by a mechanic who rode along on trips, and was an all around go-fer for the pilot. He could fly the plane, or at least hold the controls while the pilot ate, smoked, or took a sip of whiskey from his flask, he’d crank the engine starter, help wrap the engine, change plugs and mags, etc. he could and did also act as a loadmaster, so a jump seat was more than adequate.- 67 replies

John I really like the ADC bird myself, but of course YMMV. -
HB F-84E finished
Clunkmeister replied to JohnB's topic in LSM 1/32 and Larger Aircraft Ready for Inspection
I have to hand it to you, John. I have this model sitting on the SOD. I spent a TON of time on it, all kinds of AM, and I got to where I sprayed my NMF and just lost interest. The aircraft just never really interested me. Sad, actually, but more power to you, my friend. Flawless build as I said before, and maybe I'll get the urge to finish mine, although I really have my doubts. -

Well, I COULD tell you, but then I'd have to kill you...

I've always wanted to watch the L-39 class at Reno battle it out. It's as crazy as the T-6 class. A bunch of equal aircraft jockeying for position. What could possibly go wrong? I'm amazed every year when there aren't T-6 and L-39 bits and pieces scattered all over the valley floor.

Good question Rog. I remember that, too. Maybe one of the other Czech manufacturers are on it? There's plenty of good stuff on the horizon for those willing to work for it. Nothing shake the box, but if you can build Special Hobby, you can build these.
