  1. Just like the real things.... those cool braided lines we see on show cars etc, I heard it is a task that should take extreme patience and skill...... I'm still hanging in here watching every update, and this just gets better and better..... and for the record the fittings and wire look perfect
  2. Ron.... you may not have to 'make' the fittings, if you have a Hobbytown USA store near you, go there and in their locked case with all the Detail Master car stuff, they have 'fittings' in 1/25 scale, I bought some for my 1/25 scale truck models, failing that try the local Hobby Lobby, store, they 'might' have them...... HT USA in Spokane Washington had them, that's where I got mine.....and they come in chrome, red, and blue
  3. Awesome buddy.............. and along with all that, I bet this morning your mouth feels like the bottom of a bird cage................ I think that might be a good prescription for me too ! Joy didn't happen to mention anything about ...... lamp shades, underwear, dancing, neighbors, photographers or CNN? If she didn't, you may be clean on this ........................
  4. I think next time some 'visual pop' would be appropriate, this is a rather dull performance at best ................................. NOT !!!!!! Out-bloody-standing !!!!
  5. Carl, your work is so CLEAN and precise.....that paint turned out unbelievably good, I am MORE than impressed......... nice job...... can you use those masks a second time or are they a one shot deal? Also what did you use to 'glue' the canopy on with?
  6. YYYUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our RCAF post war birds were THE prettiest in the WORLD.... and I am proud to say I have flown in them when they were the prettiest, rather than the dull grays of today, back then they had real character, and were recognized anywhere in the world as RCAF...... this is gorgeous Ernie, I'm loving it......and for the record, those fuselage strengthening strips by the mid upper you scratched didn't get the love they and you deserve, I looked really closely at what you did, and how they turned out, compared to the real deals and I will say, you absolutely NAILED them, they are a small addition BUT wil make this model pop ! Top Drawer buddy !
  7. oooooooooooooo I would be interested in a sheet... ........if they want to sell one at a reasonable price....
  8. I meant Eduard, but now that you mention it..................................................
  9. And CF-ARM still survives which is really cool I think....
  10. Thanks Scott, I'm an old school guy at heart...... yeah those rear 1/4 window vents are cool, those look top drawer, a friend of mine has a 'Stang and put on aftermarket vents, but the cheap fake crappy kind that glue on the outside of the window really made the car look rather cheap.............. these ones on the car in the pic look just like the original OEM ones from '65 - 68....... I HOPE you are thinking of the kind in the pic and not the glue on ones..... and for my money, the painted Torque Thrusts always looked better than the polished ones.....
  11. Andy, my wife's uncle a FL/Lt Navigator with 408 Sqdn RCAF preferred the B.II's as well...... his a/c never took a hit....
  12. notice the dingy release handle, not sure I have paid attention to that detail before.....
  13. And Packard's too ? Hope that is of some use, maybe just some FYI and interesting pics, glad you like...
  14. Ernie, for your detailed questions about the markings and different colors etc, I can HIGHLY recommend the Books from Patrick Martin, here, I have all of them and yeah a little bit pricey, BUT they are the DEFINITIVE bible on Canadian aircraft markings, I am into them ALL the time, extremely well worth every penny invested, they will answer every question you can think of and backed up by photographic evidence..... http://www.martinslides.com Click on the 'book' icon..... seriously dude these are fabulous....
  15. Snagged this from the Getty archives, and yeah, the guys are right it is First Aid box......
  16. Thats a real clean looking ride... I love the throw back to us old school guys, the slight rake on the back end and the American Racing Wheels 'Torque Thrusts"...... and NOT the 30 inch wheels with rubber bands for tires, those suck, this looks really clean and cool.....
  17. I love a deep passion.....it is so cool to have that and the where with all to delve into it, and learn the subject thoroughly..... I am impressed......this is really interesting to me Ron..... I was just a heavy equipment operator/semi truck driver, but always wanted to know how the stuff I was operating worked.... a long while ago we got some new Western Star gravel trucks at work, and I was the only guy who took an owners manual home to read......its all in the details...
  18. Ron, quite clearly this thread is showing , me at least, that you have a massive passion for these round engines, and have worked on the real deal for quite some time,, which also to me........... is VERY cool, not only a tutelage in fine scale modeling , but an AME course on aero engines, which in this case is MUCH better than trying to figure, for me at least, it all out of a book which may miss the fine details......... I'm really enjoying this on all levels, the modelling, and the AME stuff......... I am patiently waiting for the next installment.........
