  1. Haven't forgotten your request ... Life is busy so no ETA on a WIP ... but I can (and will) open up the Spad and give you a tour ... it will just have to wait until I have a Saturday morning free. I can't attest to accuracy or anything funky like that ... the Skyraider was a relatively unknown machine to me until Trumpeter and ZM started belting them out Do.335 style!! ... Do we have an in box review anywhere around the place? Rog
  2. So sorry to hear bud ... I hope the prognosis moving forward is a little more positive ... Rog
  3. Ok ... so this stuff arrived a couple of weeks ago ... Unfortunately at about the same time ... or maybe a few days earlier ... I had a couple of software updates ... They usually go off without a hitch ... but this time with the Catalina update and the iOS 13 one - something went wrong with photo sync. Good thing about the internet is ... you just type the issue into Google and find out that everyone else has the same problem ... There's still an issue with the new "Music" app ... it switches off the equaliser/pre-amp after every track ... but at least I can download the photos off my phone now! A LARGE box arrived from Frontline with some goodies for RAAF builds: With large kit boxes inside ... An EA.18G ... A couple of F/A.18A's With Australian Markings included ... The pilot is damned Collingwood supporter!!! And an F.35 model ... of which we're getting the real deal here someday. And meanwhile this came from Metro's ... cleverly disguised with the wrong box art for the ad ... That makes Just 2 SWS kits short of the entire 1/32 collection now ... The Navy Spad ... and the Do.335A-12 Rog
  4. The E ... The epitome of Teutonic efficiency thinking ... "This it what it must be able to do ... Who cares what it looks like as long as it does the job!" Rog
  5. ... Might be especially "to die for" if you're flying either of those ... Rog
  6. I assume you're referring to the Mk. of Spitfire and not the Lager commonly referred to as "Green Death" Rog
  7. Mk.Ia ... Closely Followed by the Mk.Vb ... Was annoyed that Tamiya didn't cover these in 1/32 ... and that Revell chose to make a mess of their effort. Rog
  8. THAT sounds interesting Carl ... How much would that cost do you think? Do you think something similar could be done with the F and G to get RAAF markings there?? Also ... it's been suggested that maybe Academy might be able to issue a B canopy set ... what's your thoughts on this? Rog
  9. Carl ... I actually emailed them about their B, F and G stuff ... and got a fairly long email back just a few days ago about how their 1/32 stuff didn't sell that well and if interest didn't pick up in their Tiger stuff, that wouldn't come to pass either ... so it looks like I'm stuffed on F & G's decals - unless someone knows where I can get some. There's a few for a B around on eBay ... but unless I can find a canopy - I'm stuffed there as well. Rog
  10. ... any word on that "Mind Blown" emoji yet?? Rog
  11. I remember seeing "Han shot first!" t-shirts for sale at the last convention we had in Perth ... you can't fool the nerd population!! ... but seriously - how could Greedo miss from there??? A lot of people forget that Japan had a much greater sci-fi production and selection than the rest of the western world for decades before Star Trek and Star Wars - Even if it was mostly Animated. In fact ... US networks went scrambling for licensing rights to a fair amount of Japanese stuff to fill the demand, once Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica became hits. Rog
  12. ... and more Macross!! Rog
  13. MACROSS!!! ... Awesome sauce Rog
  14. I'd like to see one of these ... with a few Fallschirmjager in action mode at the battle for Willems bridge - Holland 1940 Rog
  15. Carl ... So ... it looks like option 2 ... find someone who got the kit with the lot - but built the single seater (or at least not the B)! Any help with locating this victim volunteer ... or any of the other items listed above would be great ... Rog
  16. Ok guys ... An update ... A special re-release of the Academy kit you posted there Smitty, has hit the shelves of one of the local Hobby suppliers - With RAAF Decals in box (I just hope they're 'normal' ones and not some flashy show plane!) ... I've ordered 2 - so I can do a "B" Conversion at some point ... Along with those I grabbed an F-35 (Italeri) in a boxing with RAAF markings. and a (Trumpeter) Boeing F/A 18.G - a Growler As you all have no doubt noticed ... I have the Trumpy F also ... So apart from various Awesome AM replacements (intakes, blah, blah, blah) ... to my knowledge ... what I'm needing is: * A 'B' conversion for the Academy kit ... (hopefully the additional canopy bits are in there!!!) ... though I'll hold off pulling the trigger until the box arrives ... They are marked only as A's ... but maybe some 'B' stuff is on a same sprue arrangement? ... Or maybe you know someone that had the Kinetic Kit and built an A or C and has the leftovers? * Decals for a 'B' ... I have one set on the e-Bay watch list so this might be taken care of. * Decals for the F and the G ... No-one I've seen has these in stock If any of you lot know where I can get the gear?? - most places I've checked have been out of stock for ages!! Rog
  17. Final box from Booktopia ... This book looked interesting ... Pretty chunky with pic's and text ... Rog
  18. There ... corrected! Rog
  19. A fair whack of my final book order arrived today with a surprise ... I rang Booktopia the day after the mysterious "lost" parcel from Amazon arrived ... and I cancelled the 2 books on the B.25 and on the Bf.110, Me.210 and 410 I was given a PayPal refund ... Heres todays deliveries ... And ... a free inclusion ... The books are well filled out ... So now I have 2 books on the Mitchell !!! Rog
  20. Don't nobody say "Dornier Do.17" ... ok?? .... .... I'll go .... A Short Stirling! Rog
  21. Geez man ... leave the bar a bit lower so some of us lot can jump over it!! Are we specifying IM kits or does ANY medium in 1/32 count? Rog
  22. When I first looked at the nose I thought the same ... with the big seam around the circumference of the nose section ... Certainly there were no major external changes to the overall shape of the fuselage, nacelles, wings, tailplane etc ... Like the Bf.110C-E - this kit screams multi-kit ability ... Just swap the nose over - 2 new sprues with the nose piece, some internals and a clear perspex section ... maybe add a couple of cheek blisters ... done! But there is no similar section where the Martin turret is - where there WAS major change ... if that whole dorsal section was a drop-in arrangement ... a later boxing might have had new tooled paneling section without the bulge for the turret, fresh internals and a clear rear canopy ... as it stands it would be an AM job to "Cut-N-Shunt" a new resin dorsal section in. But ... cut HGW some slack ... it IS their first rodeo Rog
  23. Can't wait for this one ... One of my faves ... Rather depressing, though, that they didn't make moulds that allow for modulated construction ... like a nose piece that could be exchanged for a glazed piece or a separate fitment for the dorsal section with the Martin turret that could be swapped out to create an earlier incarnation in a future boxing. Rog
