  1. I have already started sanding, the upper deck forward of the rotor is done, the whole tail boom is done also, however, the rear turtle deck and belly are a mess and required sprue goo, so I have been waiting for it to cure hard enough to sand, I made a couple attempts, but not yet. Will try again late tonight. I may take a stab at re-scribing in some panel lines I sanded out and maybe restoring some rivets too.
  2. Oops, forgot the pic.

  4. Thank you, I appreciate the positive comments. Unfortunately, I see all the warts and lots of flaws in things that didn't turn out as I wanted. I may revisit this theme with an Mi-8 helicopter next. I have had some ideas to improve upon this, especially the seat cushions and windows.
  5. She is a big girl! 19” from nose to tail, add the rotors and she will end up nearly 30” long! Big Bertha is all closed up, I ended up having to glue in a dozen styrene tabs to the top and bottom fuselage because of how flesh/wavy the joins were. There are some slight panel line mismatch by half a line, but overall the join was better than expected. I had some warping of the fuselage halves when I got it, so ink going to need to use some sprue glue in a few few places for the bigger gaps. (photo cropped to hide the disaster of a workbench.
  6. I'm going to be at the Center between 11:00 - 3:00 Wednesday, and 10:00 - 6:00 Saturday. Im considering working the door for them on Saturday.
  7. It was a Radial engine far out in front, so no high pitched noise like a turbine, but I imagine even with insulation, it was not whisper quiet. However, they used this helicopter for civilian use for nearly 40 years, so it must have done well in it's role.
  8. I added a 3v Pico led to the ceiling so I could illuminate the interior a bit. In hindsight, I should have added at least 2. I also added 20 gem of lead weight, epoxied in.
  9. In the soviet union, they don't ask you to leave, they throw you off...at 2000 ft!
  10. Lol, it’s going on one of the seats. I already have it folded up and ready to go in.
  11. A selection of fine spirits for the weary communist party official. Please don’t laugh at the labels.
  12. LOL, are you cheating on us??? Do I see a 1/48 Skyhawk on your bench?
  13. I never even heard of them. Share a link if you can.
  14. That’s true, we all see our own flaws, but judges see everything!
  15. I was working away tonight while the family sleeps... I still have a couple decals for the interior and a few paint touch ups, but it’s ready to close up! Dont mind the ugly glue marks at the bottom of the seats, they will all be hidden once closed up.
  16. Glad to see some other nut paid for the Deag Falcon! If you need the 100a correction kit, let me know I have 2.
  17. It’s going to be an in-flight very early Israeli A-4E, it’s going to be on the deck in a hard bank.
  18. A hint of “one” of my next projects. I
  19. I am also still trying to find These SpeedHunter decals, their 1/48 sheet actually also had four 1/32 sets in it as well. I did some searching, but was not able to find any anywhere. I'm hoping I can find some in Chattanooga.
  20. I actually have a set of resin exhaust in my stash, and I found an old set of decals that have the correct Tail markings. I bought these pretty cheap, however, they are old, so I'm not sure if they are usable.
  21. Yes, as a matter of fact, I am still losing my job, but we have agreed to a separation package that keeps me working through the end of August and then I have a package that gives me compensation to keep us going through the end of the year, which gives me plenty of time to find other employment. However, my wife and I have agreed to cut spending dramatically until I do find something else.
  22. Just curious, are the wings removable for transport? Or are they on forever?
  23. Ernie, you forgot the scale bottle of Canada Dry in the cockpit!
  24. A few more details, still have some painting work to do on these, but you get the idea.
