I think Ernie should send a “Cease and Desist” letter to LSP for using his pics!

HELP!!!! What do I do about this?
1to1scale replied to CrankyCrafstman's topic in Modelling Discussion
Glue it, Airfix plastic is soft and will conform. I normally use clamps, but I like the zip tie idea, just be careful not to over tighten it, zip ties are stronger than you think. -
So the question to speculate on, would that require all new tool?

I believe there were possibly 3 different fuel tanks used over the years of production. I know that one tank had the seam running vertical along the tank, the other had the seam horizontal. The bracing for the tank was also different between the two. And lastly, I heard that FAA used a different tank, but I have never seen a picture of one. I also have seen a picture of a hellcat with a couple very small wing tanks, but this was probably a field mod using some other planes tanks. (Possibly Wildcat?)

Another day of working odds and ends, finally got the front caster gear painted, main and tail rotors painted (there are flaws, but they will have to be fixed another day. Lastly, I sprayed a coat of semigloss tonight. I’m letting it dry before giving it a wash tomorrow, then figuring how to transport a 27” helicopter with a 24” rotor diameter to Chattanooga. If I have time, I need to fix the antenna and pitot on my Corsair, and get it transported also along with my Ki-84. I have a feeling I will be up all night tomorrow too. But considering I have had a grand total of 12 hrs sleep in the last 4 days, I’m going to bed.

She’s a beauty Clark! -
Doh! I was thinking KH, not HK! Yup, I’m running on 3 1/2 hours sleep now, guzzling coffee. Brain is failing me. Wow, I can’t wait to see what it is!

If it was the phantom, then it would not be all new tooling, they have a range of F-4’s. I’m speculating they are maybe bringing out a new 1/32 century series jet.

What is on your bench right now ? Share a picture :)

LMAO! What’s on my bench is....every damn tool and sanding stick I own! Ignore the hello and look at the disaster behind it. -
Paint...at last! I broke out the Iwata airbrush for the final paint, opened up my jar of Gloss white...oops! I had about 2ml of paint left, crap. So, I mixed in a bit of flat white, added thinner and retarder, and thankfully, having a white primer really helped with coverage. Its going to have a semi finish, but that really ok with me, it is a Soviet airliner after all. After it dries a bit, I’ll mask up the white and spray the Aeroflot blue, which I realize is going to have to be a custom mix to match the decals I have. I also masked up the rotors and sprayed the warning stripes and the de-ice boots. Want to guess how much red. Had left? Yup, about 6 drops, which was just enough, when I was done and went to clean out the airbrush, it took all of two seconds to empty the cup. And lastly, I sprayed the tires with rubber. Pits going to be close, but I’m sure I will get it done tomorrow. Hopefully my batter holder I ordered comes in tomorrow.

Wanted: Recommendations for modelling lamps
1to1scale replied to Sir Desmond Glazebrook's topic in Modelling Discussion
I have two of the Phive Led lamps, great, bright, color quality and adjustable necks. https://www.amazon.com/Architect-Dimmable-Technology-Adjustable-Workbench/dp/B071ZFL133/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=2BPBNKR484VTF&keywords=phive+led+desk+lamp&qid=1564882594&s=gateway&smid=A3HW2362M4N8X4&sprefix=Phive%2Caps%2C147&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFZSzI2UE04QlFZVlcmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTAyMDU0MTFNRFdGWjBWSk1INkkmZW5jcnlwdGVkQWRJZD1BMDc0NzAzNDI5U1lWWVFRWDk0UDEmd2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl I have two of the silver versions. -
Another hard day of being Rosie the riveter, I had a lot of rivet work to do, I ended up going over about 60% of the whole fuselage. I then re-masked the whole thing, did any gap filling I could find, then attached all the antennas and landing gear. It’s a risky move, I’m going to have to be very careful handling it, but all the joints are tiny and had no attaching pins, so I wanted to make sure I had a very strong bond. After dinner, I’ll spray some primer, and possibly paint everything tomorrow. This is going to be real close, I may be up all night until then.

Yes, on second thought, I should have used a different filler in some places, but I wanted it on the spine because of the gap and need for strength along the seams, as I really had a lot of bulkheads to squeeze together. But I finally have it sanded, now just a few little divots here and there. fitting the windscreen was a nightmare, the parts were so far off, I had the sand about 3 mm in height off overall, and sand a bit of slat into it. Took a while, but I have it presentable.
