  1. Just a thought, could you scan this and then someone with a kit could print this on decal paper?
  2. So cool, I’m glad his kit will get to completion, a nice tribute to the work Paul has done. Hopefully, some day when his mojo comes back, he will begin making more fantastic models. I have a few of Paul’s models and every one impresses me. My favorite so far is the X-1a.
  3. I finished up the camera mount today, and made a few improvements. I really wish I could still get MV lenses, they used to make some in black, that were perfect for cameras.
  4. More pics of fitting and sanding, I have begun gluing the cockpit together. This plastic is murder to sand, its like steel! I am having to use files instead of sanding sticks.
  5. I decided to start working on the cockpit today, I decided against buying a $55 resin set for the mustang, and will be doing a little improving, scratch building, and using some decals and PE parts from a P-51B. I saw that the left control console looked a little too thin, so I added a piece of .030 on the back and sanded down all the details I will be scratching and improving. I used an RB micro saw to cut a few thin slots in a few key areas for some PE and control levers, I also cut down the throttle assy, and reshaped it a bit, to add slots for the levers. I used a file to get rid of the round edges and square up the formers, while also getting rid of release pin marks. On the right side, I did much of the same and made the switch box a little wider, as it was too narrow. Not shown, I sanded down the armor plate to get it a little thinner, it looks more to scale now. I ended up getting the cockpit pretty well sorted out today. Next project will be tackling the area behind the cockpit. The kit camera mount is way too chunky, I need to build a thinner square tube mount, add some wiring, and improve parts of the camera.
  6. Just build it with what Trumpeter has given you, staying away from AM makes the build go faster and recharges your enthusiasm. I do it myself, every few models I do an OOB build.
  7. Looks absolutely incredible, I really wish someone would have raced one. Between this and Tony's build, I am wanting to do a racer also!
  8. Nats are over, it’s time to get crackin’ on my group build. I spent some time comparing my Allison Mustang book to the parts in the Hobbycraft kit, ya know...it’s actually really accurate. The details are a little soft, but the cockpit is surprisingly pretty damn on the money. I will probably refine some details, and a placard PE set, and rebuild the camera mount, but a lot of it is Good.
  9. Bench clean for a couple hours, already have a new project sitting on it. Starting on the D-day group build.
  10. and this build http://www.kiwimodeller.com/~kmodel/index.php/forum/38-follow-as-i-build/31839-academy-1-32-f-a-18a-hornet
  11. Here is a beautiful build on Hyperscale. http://www.hyperscale.com/2015/features/fa18a32sp_1.htm
  12. Im rusty on early Soviet bombers, i know its not a TU-16, is it a Bison?
  13. I am proud to announce my bench is clean and mostly organized, now the rest of my office needs the same.
  14. The Academy A had new tails for that version, which had a Marines and Canadian markings, so if you can find it, it’s the one you need. There are a couple on eBay for $200 right now.
  15. Ernie, your story is making its way to IPMS, I filled in my chapter Prez, he is banning the guy from the Middle TN show this fall and he is calling the Chattanooga Prez, hopefully his name will get around and be out of luck next time. Hopefully, this will get him a no thank you for next time.
  16. I was at the show, and Mr ZM himself handed it to me and asked to me look at it, I was very impressed, I have the Toryu, and this is actually even better, the details were so crisp and sharp, I was sold, and I may even build its guts without skin.
  17. I might be able to convince the wife to take a quick vacation to Vegas. San Marcos will probably be a nope unfortunately.
  18. it was a good show, I spent a total of 12 hours there over two days, and it was not enough, I barely got a chance to visit each vendor, and only got to see about a third of the models. It was very overwhelming, I wish I could have spent another day there, but meeting a few of you guys and hanging with Ernie was fun.
  19. He’s not the only seller in the world. https://hobbyterra.com/product/bristol-brabazon-airplane-model.html https://www.hobby.dn.ua/amodel-amo-72028-bristol-brabazon-p-64235.html?currency=EUR&language=en&utm_campaign=scalemates-marketplace&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=scalemates&osCsid=h29387ehsk8ndt4u93je0s63q7
  20. And, they will be releasing the individual resin sets for each, to convert the Italeri/Revell Mirage III E/R to 5/50/IAI variants.
