MARU 5137 replied to Daywalker's topic in General Discussion
I thought so having read your thread way back then on LSP.. Have you Arranged a flight with Pete Fleischmann Yet? And yes every eventuality and given situation as a pilot , Commercial or otherwise, you are taught about EVERYTHING.. Take care. MARU5137 -
Bill, Great to hear that yoyr pain has somewhat lessened and you are on the mend. Get well soon and wish you all the best in your recuperation. And John OUCH !! seeing that , it looks like it was a painful and long haul of an operation. Both of you and others in similar position, take care and Get Well soon.

An-2 engine explodes in flight and did not fail
MARU 5137 replied to Daywalker's topic in General Discussion
Firstly what a beautiful aircraft that is.. Shiny !! Thank you for the video. I read the description of what happened: The pilot was extremely good (as most and many pilots trained are ... ) Daywalker aren't you a trained pilot now?! Reading the below description just shows the skilful pilot Handling the situation. The engine exploded in flight and did not stall. Destruction of the piston engine of the AN-2 aircraft. The engine exploded at an altitude of 600 feet. The engine oil completely leaked out, the engine collapsed, but the engine failure did not occur. With heavy smoke, the plane landed and taxied to the parking lot. Everyone is alive and well. Thanks to the pilot. -
Hello Tim and Cupcake.. I hardly go much on ARC(still a member) or on BM(its an intermittent thing with ME at the moment). Work has been busy, real life and other things have taken ME away from you lovely gentle folks. I have been working constantly and on MY days off ( few and rarer at the moment); I have been visiting Classic car shows etc and as I also collect books and Coins, have travelled to those venues too! So much going on with MY work that I feel like a blooming zombie!! Also had Ramadhan from March to April with long hours so fairly busy. I try and get to LSM but never have a few hours to sit and read yoyr amazing builds. Thank you again. I am doing fine thank you for your concern.

Hello Neil, Just read this. Nice to have you on LSM. It is a shame how people behave with others. I know you will be an integral part of Large Scale Modelling forum and enjoy the freedom of having friendly banter and voicing your opinions on models et al. Since I left there, I don't have an inkling to look at, read, view, ponder, search or do anything over on LSP. Sure there were some super builds but SO DOES LSM.... anyway their behaviour has lost you and it is LSM and our gain to have you. Its a pleasure to see you here Neil. Cupcake is nice! Forget those throbbers and MEADY folks over there ! We don't have any MOMO's here .. Enjoy your life. Regards, MARU5137

The Swoose - B-17 Flying Fortress with an Unusual Tail The Swoose is one of the most iconic aircraft of World War 2. Originally called Ole Betsy, this B-17D Flying Fortress aircraft was part of the team that flew the first U.S. bomber mission during the war. The B-17 received its official nickname, The Swoose, when Australian repairmen changed its tail to a smaller shark-shaped fin. The tail reminded Captain Weldon Smith of a popular song about a tormented animal that was half-swan and half-goose But no one was quite as smitten with The Swoose as Colonel Frank Kurtz. The personal pilot of Lieutenant General George Brett, commander of the Allied Air Forces in Australia, became fascinated with the aircraft and even named his child after the plane. Together they carried out many air combat missions, but Kurtz was determined to make history and set off to break a few records... --- Join Dark Skies as we explore the world of aviation with cinematic short documentaries featuring the biggest and fastest airplanes ever built, top-secret military projects, and classified missions with hidden untold true stories. Including US, German, and Soviet warplanes, along with aircraft developments that took place during World War I, World War 2, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Cold War, the Gulf War, and special operations mission in between

So John heres how to get those photos if your still want to "get them" for your use.... { Take a } ...Screen shot the photos that you want , firstly by clicking on it to enlarge the thumbnail, AND then using the crop tool in your camera cut off what you do not want, for instance the writing above it and below... if you want the caption, then do not crop... so the whole thumbnail when expanded can be viewed as normal larger photo !! Once you've done that... you can then save it to your camera's gallery and be able to Zoom in to see the photos... That should be helpful.... Thanks for posting your reply to the thread.
