  1. Lots of choices here to look into.... I drink Becks mostly (now US brewed) And Guiness Extra stout.
  2. Well, disaster today.....on the SMK. While trying to glue on a part with ca. An entire capful of CA dropped On the model destroying the kit.....As I See it this kit can no longer be finished. I see no way to remove the CA spilled all over the back of this Model. Perhaps the undamaged parts, wheels, turrets etc can be used on a new kit.......Mad As Hell! Addendum: I just ordered another SMK kit from Scalehobbyist. Oh well....Hell.....Tomorrow is another day. By the way ScaleHobbyist has these for $46.00...A good price, I was lucky to find one.
  3. Figure really looks great! The leather effect on the jacket is spot-on!
  4. More work on the SMK Construction work mostly done.....painting in near future. Some minor putty needed in a few places, but otherwise went together well. Tiny transparent vision blocks a pain to put in place. I will not be using the kit tracks, but will instead be using Friulmodel tracks. A big, odd-looking, tank this one! .
  5. Love the big Blohm & Voss! Is it Resin?
  6. Another box of Friulmodel tracks today. This time, their; ATL-10 for the KV-1 and KV2 Soviet tanks. I'll use these on my Tamiya kV-1 and later perhaps buy another set of these for my Tamiya KV-2. Not really needed for these kits as both have excellent link & length tracks included....I just happen to think Friuls are a fun option. Anyway, still working on my Takom SMK that will also have friuls on it.
  7. Sad to hear that. The mail here is pretty quick. Even orders from Australia get here within a week. It's amazing, considering the mail service is government run.
  8. You mention Apollo 13, I happen to have met Jim lovell and his son while working at Lake Forest Hospital back in the '90s.
  9. Nice work! A beautiful build.
  10. Yes, i already bought some friul tracks for this kit, but the kits link & length tracks are very good.
  11. Yes, it's a twin turret tank. Takom #2112 https://www.scalemates.com/kits/takom-2112-smk--1140874
  12. Been working on Takom's SMK...... Got the hull and wheels mostly done. Only problem was the grab handles on the hatches didn't fit.....the location holes had to be drilled out larger.
  13. Good choice going with the Miniart .....the Tamiya kit now belongs to the ages.
  14. I remember that build... Great job on that!
  15. Cool subjects..... I know Tamiya made an Enigma..but that one must be a collectors item now as I haven't seen it anywhere.
  16. I also have one of the 48th Tamiya Mosquitos in my stash. I didn't know about this variant...I'll be watching.
  17. Nice work Carl! I only tried to do the mottle thing once.....on my Pegasus 1/18 V-l....just a few spots...
  18. Nice! I see AFV Modeler is selling resin parts for the big M10/Achilles kits including a complete drivers compartment, radios, weapons etc. https://www.afvmodeller.com/product-category/detail-conversion-parts/us-tanks-parts/m10-achilles/
  19. Four kits today... From ICM, Hobby Boss, and Tamiya. Three relatively obscure tanks and a Finnish StuG III... Also, a discussion with Amazon customer service about how they ship model kits......They ship them in bags! The Tamiya StuG was shipped in a bag and the box cover....slightly damaged. No big deal.....but seriously... BAGS ? buried
  20. Sorry to hear that. Yes, for the most part easy to find, most suppliers have it. I went back home the other day to find both my bottles dried out...crap.
  21. Today some minor stuff.... A couple of decal sets that can be used for the Hobbyboss T-26 '35 kit I recently purchased. First, from STAR DECALS, their 35-C 1173 Spanish Civil War T-26 Republican in 1/35. Some interesting options are offered. Second, from ECHELON, their D356060 Markings and Generic Stencils of Finish Sturmi. Really meant for Finnish StuG III's the Finnish style swastikas can be used on other vehicles. I haven't decide on which set I'll use. Oh, and I bought some Mr. Finishing Surfacer 1500. The other day, I went to my home and returned with some tools to start a kit at Mom's...I chose the old Tamiya Churchill....I opened the kit....and... No "Polycaps"!. So, I couldn't start it. I emailed Tamiya USA...they emailed back that they would send me some....I haven't heard back from them after I sent them my return address... We'll see.
