Thanks, I'LL probably soak in tamiya AB cleaner in a shallow dish. I found a 1/16 scale offering made by ship kit makers Artesania Latina online...ordered it..but, who knows when I'll get it. Also saw some from Tetra,Liang, and Voyager....interesting products, looking forward to trying them out. They seem very flexible... I wonder if they can be used on 1/16 pioneer tool handles? We'll see. Paul

Some new items today;.... First, from Eduard a set of masks for the Tamiya 1/48 F4F Wildcat (EX092). Second, from Zoukei-Mura is a photo-etch wood grain stencil (SWSO8-MO7) Type 1. In 1/32 meant for their Ho 229 kit. Looked interesting..... Thought I'd give it a try. I also have their Type 2 stencil coming. This thing is made of very thin, flexible photo-etch. I'm a little concerned about the durability of this thing....We'll see. Lastly, from Eureka Model Accessories some more of their scale metal tow cable (LH-02 0,75mm). I highly recommend this stuff.....beats trying to make string look good!

Like it, well done. I recently bought Takom's 2-in-1 boxing of the panzer one both A & B in one box! Those were tiny tanks! -

I have a bag...100 or more....3/16" steel balls that i add a couple to each bottle of paint....rattle, rattle works well. I wouldn't mind having a paint shaker though...... -

Another great one John! -
I like to see these older kits done....reminds me of my modeling origins building 70's vintage Otaki kits....I had a collection of Japanese aircraft In the 80's all o.o.p. kits. Also, I think your subject kit is one of the most attractive aircraft of the era....cool to see. Thanks; Paul

Signature post problems
belugawhaleman replied to belugawhaleman's topic in Problems? Suggestions? Tell us!
It required , partially, changing the font size used on my kindle fire tablet. The problem hasn't been solved as things pasted from internet sources come out in large font. I have a feeling that this problem is very specific. -
My last use i cut 40 masks, worked perfectly..... I noticed that the cutter did not stay in place every time when lifting the cutter while the blade was still in the material I was cutting..... Perhaps the blade was sticking to the adhesive on the backside of the vinyl I was cutting and it was pulled out as opposed to falling out?
-
It should be inside the adjustment spring...looking from above you should See it as a silver disc....Early examples of this cutter required assembly and I believe 2 of these magnets were provided.
-
The magnet is in the holder....Even with the magnet the cutter sometimes falls out..

Amazing detail and painting skills! -
It's the angle of the firewall that's not right is what I heard....I did buy a aftermarket firewall that's supposed to fix the problem, but I'm not convinced. We'll see. The replacement firewall/wheelwell was made by Master Details....but I read that even that has issues. https://www.largescaleplanes.com/reviews/review.php?rid=2354

A trip to my local Ace Hardware resulted in this purchase...... Tamiya's Grumman F4F-4 Wildcat (61034) in 1/48. Not armor, or large-scale......but ,still a nice little kit. I have a couple of the 1/32 Trumpy kits of this.....but I know this will be a smaller , Yet less frustrating build.

Anyone make a 1/16 M4A1 Sherman kit?
belugawhaleman replied to ScottsGT's topic in Modelling Discussion
I too have hoped fo a large-scale early model Sherman.....I' m guessing That Andy's next release will be a Lee and a Grant, which will be cool. He stated; that he will be announcing an american and a British tanks and they won't be a sherman. A Lee, American....change the turret, A Grant, British. -
I have somewhere between 120-130 kits in my stash.....seeing that some of you have about 300 kits, I don't feel that bad now. I now think that I'll mark 300 as a goal...then stop...Yes, that sounds reasonable to me,... Don't you think? Yes,.....that's what I'll do...not crazy at all.

Well.......Anyone? -
I just moved a lot of model kits out of a bedroom closet to do some cleaning. I now , temporarily, have a tower of model kits in my living room....and that's only about half of my stash......I buy too many kits.....I think, ....I'm not well. I wish I had a wife to tell me to stop!

Looks like a great subject. I like the big scale kits....I had a look at the big Trumpy SU-100 in my stash...may build it soon.
