Tamiya F4U-1 Birdcage redux done
JohnB replied to JohnB's topic in LSM 1/32 and Larger Aircraft Ready for Inspection
Thank you!!! Most appreciated. -
I have re shot these pics and posted them over on Completed builds.
-
Thanks Ron. It's just strips of white decals. They are supplied on the kit decal sheet. Not difficult but tedious for sure.
-
This is my 2nd try at posting this. For some reason all the pics were a little blurry after I posted them (the originals are not). So, I'll give it another shot. All done! Another Corsair for the collection. VMF-214 painted with Colorcoats, Model Master and over sprayed w/Alclad clear flat. Decals are from the kit and my stash. I had intended to use HGW decals but decided to take a different route. I hope you like the results of my efforts. Note: For some unknown reason the pics are coming up grainy. I'll re-post over on completed builds and see how they look there.

1/32 Revell Bristol Beaufighter build
JohnB replied to CrankyCrafstman's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
That's going to be a beauty! I look forward to seeing it completed. -
That sounds like a plan! I should have the kit by the end of the week. As soon as I get I'll pull out the piece you need. Thanks!

The one with the 4 slots is correct for a E (as far as I know).
-
Since the E comes with the wrong air brake (with all the holes) I still need to snag a correct E item. Anybody???

Mitsubishi A6M5c Zero Type 52 1/32 Hasegawa
JohnB replied to Sturmbock's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Welcome! That is a really nice kit and I know you will enjoy the build. -
-
Contacted Harold and he is sending a cockpit set.
-
Agreed Harv. I have done business with him several times. I glad he is still working!
-
I talked to him and he said he could fix me up with what I need. No problemo!
-
I'll have to take a look at the kit part when it arrives (ebay buy) and see what is what. I expect it to deliver by this Friday.
-
Thanks guys. I'll give FB a try.
-
Does anyone know if Harold at AMS Resin is still in business? He has/had some VERY nice resin parts.
-
Yes they did. I'll be happy to swap airbrakes with you. Thanks!
-
I am looking for the two above items for a Hobby Boss F-84E I plan to build. I had previously, a few years ago, bought some from Harold at AMS for a F-84G I built but I don't see his site listed now. Any help is appreciated!

Tamiya P-51D, easy bake & shake.
JohnB replied to 1to1scale's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
I've built 9 of them so far. Excellent fit, etc. Never did one of the chrome plated ones though. And everyone thinks I only build Corsairs! LOL -
I look forward to seeing your finished model!
-
LOL!
-
Thank you! It isn't a difficult kit to build so why not give it a try?
-
Well here we are. Painting and decaling all done and ready for clear flat overspray and then some weathering, etc. I decided to model this VMF-214 a/c instead of the one I had originally intended.
