  1. Two additions to my militaria collection from my guy in Latvia. A early version (1936) Wehrmacht gas mask container in really great shape and a canteen cup in not really great shape. From the German 16th Army in 1945 battles.
  2. Yes indeed Ron. I sure set myself up for a hard time with this one. Hopefully I am past all the big problems but we will see!
  3. Been on the SOD for over a year. We'll see how it goes.
  4. I decided it had sat on the SOD for too long but that gave me some time to consider a good approach to mounting the wings. I have my fingers crossed they will stay put when attached.
  5. I had started this build over a year ago over on "TOS" but, due to high cuss factor problems, I put it all back in the box even though it was well along. I've decided to finish this SOB but I have no idea where to put it when finished. It's a BIG model and all my display cases are full. I'll cross that bridge when (and if) I come to it. The big hurdle right now is to mate the wings to the fuselage. I've added a length of brass tubing to give it a stronger join. I am converting this "B" to a "A" with the short nose in a OD and Gray camo. Stay tuned!
  6. Thank you Anthony. I'm pleased that you like it.
  7. Just so you know, the P-40 is done and in RFI.
  8. Thanks Rob. I'm glad you like the results of my efforts. Lulu Belle will look good for sure! Remember that the name should be yellow and not white. Here's the one I built a while back.
  9. Thanks guys. I'm pleased with the way it turned out. Very eye catching.
  10. This is the Hasegawa/Eduard kit. Mostly OOB but I replaced the kit prop with one from my spares stash which is more accurate. Everything else, including PE seat belts (which I am not a big fan of) came in the kit. The undersides are "painted" believe it or not, with Alclad Gloss Primer Grey. The top surfaces camo is MM OD 34087 and Dk. Green 34092. A real nice kit and easy to build. I hope you like it.
  11. Thanks Phil. I agree. Extensive "spares" can come to the rescue in many cases. I've saved left over kit parts for MANY years.
  12. I was hoping to find a Grey Matter prop somewhere but had no luck. I looked in my spares stash and lo and behold I found what I think is a prop from the Trumpeter SBD kit which will fill the bill just fine.
  13. I'm trying my best to hold off on getting this kit until some after market decals are available. The schemes provided just don't do it for me.
  14. Thanks! I guess I'll try to tone the weathering down some but it is necessary to some extent.
  15. I need this for my RNZAF P-40 build.
  16. Thanks Martin. I expect they used more than one type of drop tank. At any rate, I don't intend to attach anything to the shackles.
  17. I'm glad you like it. It's good to know it is still around, even in pieces.
